Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
Wow Bobby, I envy all the bands you've seen and all the festivals you've been to. Like I said in an earlier topic, the only festivals here in Canada where I live are folk festivals and Warped Tour. I'm not even going to Warped Tour this year because none of my friends can/want to go.

Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
we're pretty lucky with festivals here, there's loads to choose from and with the UK being quite small, it's easy to travel to a festival the other side of the country. even going to festivals in Western Europe isn't too much of a mission, and they're fairly cheap.

I'm just going to make it a point to see The Gaslight Anthem this year or whenever they're in my part of town.

Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
i'm already seeing them twice this year, in London on June 26th and again at Reading Festival in August. hopefully they'll tour here again in the winter! other than Gaslight, Download fest & Reading fest, I haven't got any other gigs lined up at the minute

Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
Is it weird to go to concerts alone? I'm really tempted to start doing that because none of my friends are ever able to come.

I've never been to a gig on my own, but I see bands on my own at festivals all the time, it's fine! I would consider going to a gig on my own if none of my mates wanted to go, if it's a band you really want to see then fuck everyone else! you shouldn't miss out because your friends don't have ears!

Exactly. Just be there early enough so you have time to find and meet some nice people or just enter last minute so you don't even need anybody to talk to. Or just look for random people in advance, who also go that you can join, before getting tickets.

Let me just put my hardware and guitar into a waterproof backpack and swim over there on my drumset to join you guys. After that I'll continue living there as a hobo and offer my delicious German sausage for public service.

Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
Well, maybe I'll start buying tickets to some shows then. I can really only count on my brother coming with me nowadays. It's a the loneliest feeling, walking through the city at night by yourself. I've only ever done it drunk and it's amazing I didn't get mugged to killed. I saw two gay guys crying by a convenience store one night when I was walking back to my friend's house. The night I ate donairs. Nothing to do with concerts, but it is a weird sight to see when you're drunk.bobbyjames wrote:I've never been to a gig on my own, but I see bands on my own at festivals all the time, it's fine! Same here. My "friends" suck cock balls.Jeremy Kill wrote:I can really only count on my brother coming with me nowadays.
No, it's not. It's pretty lonely, yes, but not the loneliest - believe me.Jeremy Kill wrote:It's the loneliest feeling, walking through the city at night by yourself.
Yeah me too(neither?), although one time it was very close. Luckily that was one of the times where I wasn't drunk.Jeremy Kill wrote:I've only ever done it drunk and it's amazing I didn't get mugged to killed.

Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
I live in a fairly small town, so nothing happens at night, just a few chavs with their bottles of cider. they can be dealt with qite easily though with a foot to the face. though London can be a horrible place after a gig, especially Brixton. I have to get out of there straight after the gig, run straight to the underground and get home/back to the hotel!

Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
When my friends and I went to Blink-182 we met a homeless man in the subway station. We were drunk and he could've been drunk, but we talked about the show and the guy told us how he preferred Green Day over Blink-182. He asked me for some change and I had to fiddle in my pocket, choosing only the nickels and dimes (avoiding the dollars).
You're right, I kind of exaggerated that. Though, I tend to sing Boulevard of Broken Dreams to myself when I walk by myself. And yes, I'm usually drunk when this occurs, haha.Simon wrote:No, it's not. Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
my favourite episode with a tramp was when I was skating with my mates in town one evening and this guy come up to us and asked for some change. he then went on to tell us how he will pay us back when his comic book made him a millionaire. the guy had a notebook on him full of these drawings of puddles with faces. this was his genious idea of a comic book. puddles. with faces. we named the guy Mr. Puddles, though we never saw him again.

Re: Every Concert You've Ever Been To
Haha, you cheap bastard. I would've easily given him 10 bucks or at least all the coins for having an opinion on that. Especially if I was drunk, I would've probably given him everything I had on me and my pants as well .. and then get raped and regret it.Jeremy Kill wrote:When my friends and I went to Blink-182 we met a homeless man in the subway station.
