Me too, but I don't think that's the actual live sound. It was probably recorded in the studio afterwards like the vocals because Deryck doesn't usually play/sing that clean.

Say what? They re-recorded on GCY before they released it? I'm a little bothered by it.

Yeah, most notably the vocals and guitars. You can easily tell the difference from watching the Sympatico MSN performances and listening to the CD.

For example, in No Reason, Deryck is not playing guitar during the verse (Sympatico MSN). In Go Chuck Yourself, you can hear a second guitar come in in the last half of the verse.

We had a big talk about this whole thing on the forums a couple years ago.

Yes, and Deryck said in an interview (about a year ago) that it was a mistake to say it was recorded in that specific show in London, ON in April.
While the majority of GCY was from that show, Deryck said they put bits and pieces from here and there throughout the GCY tour.

So according to Deryck, the songs were not re-recorded, they just mixed the parts from different shows.

It's a common thing that parts of live albums are redone, especially vocals and guitars because during a live show, the artists usually don't care about the recording or just forget about it, but afterwards they want it to be more enjoyable for everyone. I think that's understandable and as long as it still feels like a live album, I don't really care if they do it.

Go Chuck Yourself is a perfect example of what a "clusterfuck" is. While the CD booklet says it was recorded in London, ON, Deryck says it's made from different shows of the same tour. Yet they keep all the tracks that mention "London". If Deryck is right, why would he play a part of the verse to a song and then not do it at another show? Why change how the song is played when you don't even change the actual dialogue and banter in the show?

It's water under the bridge now anyway, though I hope this time around they do another live DVD.

This is a great song and such a great video. I think the witch underneath the car was a really nice subtle addition. Some Say and Pieces are very similar in my opinion, I remember liking this song a lot when I first heard Chuck because it was one of the few which were more pop punk than metal on that album.

Fact: I didn't know there was a witch underneath the car. WTF?

That's not a fact, that's a statement.

Yeah, Some Say is an amazing song. One of my favs by the Sums. I wish they would bring it back to the setlist on their current tour, or in the tour supporting the new album in the summer/fall. I have a feeling it could fit well with the new material.

Not necessarily. For example.
Statement wrote:I have a 50 inch penis.

That would be a statement sadly though as much as I would like it. This is false therefore not a fact.

Haha as I was reading through the previous posts I was thinking of an example statement which for some reason also involved penis length..

And about the witch, like I said it was a nice subtle addition ;)

I love this song. It's helped me out through a lot of tough times. Being a teenager the meaning of this song (peer pressure) really speaks to me. :holyshit:
