We don't know that!TomiT14 wrote:Working title for EP songs.Nic wrote:Wasn't Jessica Kill a working title for a song on UH?
Well I mean originally it was the title for an EP song, not for an UH song.samueeL wrote:We don't know that!TomiT14 wrote:Working title for an EP song.Nic wrote:Wasn't Jessica Kill a working title for a song on UH?
Well that pic you posted is from the EP era.samueeL wrote:No, I mean I think it was written after EP songs.
Just like he outdid Subject To Change into No Reason and Underclass Hero.samueeL wrote:He said he has outdone all of the songs
Yeah, exactly, the album is in the same direction and state of mind that Deryck has said before about the EP, so its a continuation basically. Its not like that they stopped making the EP and announced they are making an electro-hip-hop full-length album, scrapping the dark and heavy EP.TomiT14 wrote:Just like he outdid Subject To Change into No Reason and Underclass Hero.samueeL wrote:He said he has outdone all of the songs
The song could still have same parts than in the beginning, even if it's been outdone.
So even though the song evolves, it doesn't mean the title should be changed.
They were still working on EP in early 2009, until they decided to stretch it to an album.
So all the work that happened until early 2009, I see that being EP era.
And like Hentai said, working for EP and the new album is the same thing.
The EP songs have now evolved to better songs. It doesn't mean all of the EP content is now disappeared.
Exactly. When I listen to Sum 41... I want to listen to Sum 41.Gunner wrote:I know Deryck said in the Absolute Punk forum chat that he was making an EP of more aggressive songs. If he kept "outdoing" these songs with songs he was writing for the now soon-to-be album, then he must've still been writing songs in the vein of dark, aggressive, fast... etc. because can you really "outdo" a song you've already written if it's completely different from the original?
Either way, I really hope I enjoy this album. All that shit with Pieces and The Scientist, Underclass Hero taking inspiration from American Idiot... it's all made me too critical of their music and I just want a Sum 41 album I can pop into my car and go, "fuck yeah, this is what I need."
I get it, and agree with the logic.Hentaiman wrote:Yeah, exactly, the album is in the same direction and state of mind that Deryck has said before about the EP, so its a continuation basically. What?! You don't like Noots?Jake-41 wrote:I get it, and agree with the logic.Hentaiman wrote:Yeah, exactly, the album is in the same direction and state of mind that Deryck has said before about the EP, so its a continuation basically. Song alone = shit. Make a change, mix that shit song, with something that has potential, and you get a better song. Which you can obsly take from No Reason/noots. Noots being shit.
I love n00ts. But No Reason is superior! It's just shit in that sense. But who knows which actually came first.Gunner wrote:What?! I definitely enjoy No Reason over Noots, but I also think Noots was good enough to be included on Chuck.Jake-41 wrote:I love n00ts. But No Reason is superior! It's just shit in that sense. But shit. Now i can't decide if n00ts is better than No Reason. Hmmm..
Oh yeah, okay I thought that's what you meant haha, since Noots and No Reason are like completely different.Jake-41 wrote:EDIT: Meant to say Subject To Change/No Reason. Ya get the idea, though.
