The sums haven't answered any questions in a while.

I asked him about the Vox and also threw in the lyrics to the "cone song" got this as a reply

"that song seems to be getting quite popular. we'll just have to wait see"

so maybe...

I hate when talking to Cone or Tom or whatever on their Myspace, and asking like two questions they never answer the good one out of the questions haha. Its sometimes like that when talking with Dave in the email too. Hell, I understand they can't and don't have time and stuff to answer all questions, but it always seems like they ignore the best question hehe.

I'm looking forward to a new voice on the album.

I wouldn't count on it.

Well I wasn't expecting more than backing vocals.

It would be cool if Tom sang on the song that he wrote, but I don't know how it would fare with the rest of the album like if it would sound out of place or anything.

Yeah, I actually could see a song by Tom kinda out of place in the album, even though Tom did good singing heavy and crazy songs on Gob's latest album. I just guess vocally it could sound out of place, but I would love a Deryck/Tom duet haha, could be great if the two of them sang on a song together, like a verse each, maybe together in the chorus, on some kickass heavy song in the vein of Gob's "Underground".

the reason why i think that'd it'd seen out of place is that because sum 41 hasn't done any songs with other artists that they share the vocals. except for little know it all, but regardless it still seems like a weird idea. im actually getting more excited about this album more and more. i really believe it has the potential to become the best sum 41 album to date.

They did some rapping on Unwritten Laws christmas song. Can't remember the name right now.

There was a lot of talk about how Tom might not fit some of the octave's of the backing vocals, and i hate to ruin this thread, but if your remember Dave was pretty good in the backup. Just sayin.

Yeah, Sum did some other collaborations like Walk This Way they covered for the Aersomith MTV Icon with Nelly & Ja Rule. The Unwritten Law song, and I think there were some more. Stevo and Deryck did backing vocals on Treble Charger's Hundred Million song. And they played on that Tenacious D song "Things I Want".

I think it will be the best album too. The only close to lead vocals I want Tom to do would be like what Stevo did in Thanks For Nothing. I don't think he should be a lead singer in a song though. Backing vocals would be awesome.
