ok I'll be honest here, I LOVE the direction that the song and the music is going (big and darker), but not as much the song itself so far. BUT I won't judge till I hear more then one riff and the full song with vocals. although I still love the "mr. amsterdam"ish riff in the other video.

^ I thought cone was done awhile ago? I understand that they use old footage for the updates, but this is just cone saying he's halfway through.....kinda pointless.

love the feel of the songs though, I see what deryck was saying now, none of these song clips are even close to metal, but they're big....so to speak. I'd say they compare to count your last blessings/the jester in feel so far.

Too much jizzing for my liking. It's starting to stink in here!

From the look of the pickup, I'd say it's a Gretsch. I looked on Deryck's MySpace and it's a Malcom Young Model.

hmm just noticed this, but so far every song cone has played to has been dark sounding, but still overall rather mid tempo. I'm hoping in the end when they say fast, they're thinking A.N.I.C. or welcome to hell fast.

Tom played that same song in pre-pro vids what D played in last update. Catchy chorus, seems like a good song.

I think when they say "fast" they probably mean strumming, double-picking... etc. as opposed to the actual tempo and song being fast.

When I look back, Sum 41 have a tradition of having at least one fast song on the album:

Half Hour of Power: THT
All Killer No Filler: Never Wake Up
Does This Look Infected?: ANIC, Mr. Amsterdam
Chuck: The Bitter End, Welcome to Hell
Underclass Hero: King of Contradiction

So my guess is that they'll have at least one, probably two songs like the ones above on the new album. That being said, I hope they don't have any songs less than a minute long. I hoping that every song is legit on this album and doesn't get written off as a joke track or something. Ma Poubelle was funny, it was different, but I didn't care for the Underclass Hero album as a whole that much anyway so it didn't bother me. Slipping Away was nice, but it was cut too short and probably could've blossomed into a good song.

I write a lot.

Sooooo, we've heard about 3 songs. (I think)

Anyway, there are still about 10 songs we haven't heard. So if you don't like these, just know there are 10 others you might.

Or might not. I think that's how this works.

If Universal puts out those 40 second previews of the new album like they did with Underclass Hero, I don't think I'll be able to abstain from listening to them even though I said I'd wait to listen to the songs in their full glory when the album leaks/gets released.
