Also, to whoever mentioned the pact, I agree! Whenever a single is out I always say that's the only song i'll listen to before the album comes out. Then after the leaked songs come out and I just give in! So tempting.

I hope the single gets released in June but it'll probably be July

Not that weird. Labels do stuff without noticing the artist all the time. But it could also be an intentional fake releasedate by the shop to get people to preorder already.

It's the deal they agreed on and the reason why they got this big and can do all this stuff they love to. Today a record label is unnecessary, kind of like a publisher for videogames, because you could do everything over the internet. But it's the promotion power and media relations they have, which keeps them in business. Just look at Brownsound and his band and how many people loved him in Sum 41. Then look at the numbers on his band's Myspace site. Fame comes at a price.

Yeah. There's a lot of bands nowadays that release "shit" albums just so they can fulfill contractual commitments to their record companies. Prince comes to mind.

Lets hope to god that never happens to Sum 41... I couldnt bear to listen to a semihalfdecent album by them.

Yeah but i know ill probably give in to leaks too... i listened to the 2 leaked demos from 21st century breakdown, yet i have to say it didnt really effect my reception of the album as a whole.

Didn't Green Day release a single one month before the 21st century breakdown album came out? Maybe that something we see Sum 41 do too. A single in July then the album in August =).

Cone said they will release a single in July.. and Steve said we would get more information about a new single in June..
