I remember reading this. So knowing only the first name doesn't really give any help finding him."‘Dear Father <Complete Unknown>' is a song I've tried to write forever and I just never finished it," Whibley explains. "I've never met my father — ever. I grew up with a single mother and I have no brothers or sisters, so it was just me and my mom. She had me when she was 17. I had a different upbringing from anyone that I know and I started writing a song called ‘Dear Father.' It's basically about growing up my entire life and how I don't even know his last name and I've never even seen a picture of him. I don't know anything about him. That was the hardest song I've ever had to write because I didn't even know what to write and it was hard because I never really talked about it."

there's nothing wrong with being nice, afterall the papparazzis are doing their job, if you live in friking hollywood it's kinda expected to be on the tabloids from time to timeGregorovich wrote:Tbh, if I were in Deryck's place I wouldn't even dignify the paparazzi with a response.
Personally if I were in a position where my livelihood depended on following famous people and asking them every question under the sun in the hope of getting a one-word answer I would consider either rethinking my career or suicide. The paparazzi have never and will never contribute anything to society other than the inflation of one of the biggest problems with modern civilisation - the idea of 'celebrity'. I love Sum 41 but, like 99% of musicians nowadays, they don't deserve recognition as idols over people who work harder and contribute more to society. Tim McIlrath is a great musician and a real contribution to society - because he stands up for what he believes in and realises the problems with our modern world. Deryck is not this, but famous musicians with celebrity status will always get more recognition and there's very little we can do about this. The paparazzi is the embodiement of self-exaccerbation and ignorance. /rantDruska wrote:there's nothing wrong with being nice, afterall the papparazzis are doing their job, if you live in friking hollywood it's kinda expected to be on the tabloids from time to timeGregorovich wrote:Tbh, if I were in Deryck's place I wouldn't even dignify the paparazzi with a response.
