I don't wanna get too much into this, but in Dear Father he also says "just a name without a face" and "guess its better you don't bother" so pretty sure his mom knew the father, but he just didn't want anything to do with her/D.

anyways. I loved to watch the interview but can't get the video to play.

That's what I got out of it too. I thought I read somewhere that she knew him but he left.

Well, even if they knew his name, he's still nowhere to be found. Deryck has tried to locate him twice with no results. And I really doubt his mother would let Deryck use time and money to find something she already knows about.

And it's impossible for me to point out the sources for all these. I've read/listened to/watched almost every interview from them since I got into them, so all this info has come to me along the way. Around the time when UH was being released, Deryck was asked if he would expect his father to come forward after releasing Dear Father, and he said that he's already tried to find him twice, so he doesn't think the song would make any difference.

So my point, if they knew his full name, why would it be so hard to find where he's at?

Cause he doesn't really want to be found? he could be anywhere on the world, so finding him doesn't really seem an easy task to me. especially cause he probably doesn't use social media(which allows you to find people fairly easily)

Fair enough. But anyways, the facts are that even after trying hard, D has never met his father. And her mother was only 17 years old when she got him. Case closed.

Still cant believe derycks a bastard/mistake! I just always thought his dad got scared at the thought of raising a child.

I think he is. They released 4 studio albums, 1 live album 1 live dvd. And they have merch and they did a lot of touring in the past. So I say he's up in the millions.

Not a fortune by todays ridiculous pay packets, but he's made his money. Probably blown a lot as well, so I don't think he's in his best financial state these days, he's never been the businessman has he. But he isn't going to be applying for a benefit. I still believe he is in the low millions. 6/7/8 maybe more I haven't a clue or a care in the world tbh. As long as he's a musician and he's healthy I couldn't give a damn.

Yeah, my mum knew my dad for a couple of years but he left just after I was born so I never knew him and she has no idea where he is.
