I was reading an interview MTV held with dave only weeks after he quit the band, he said "sum 41 is gettin to dark for the public" and he went on about how you guys stopped having fun and it got to serious. Do you believe that it was getting out of hand after chuck? It also seemed to me that you guys stopped having fun after all killer and i noticed you guys didnt seem the same after DTLI. Did making music with your best friends get old after awhile? Is that why the music became darker?

i don't know what the fuck he meant about that. i don't even think he knows what he's talking about. i think he was talking about himself. i'm the fucking ambassador of fun! we are having the time of our lives in this band. did it seem like we were being too serious in the we're all to blame video? underclass hero, walking disaster videos? if this wasn't fun i wouldn't be doing it.

you know at first i was begining to think there were no hard feelings between dave and the band. But i dont thing thats true anymore. Deryck sounded pissed about that.

Haha I saw that on the site too, I've always thought that Deryck has been more or less holding back his feelings about Dave since he left the band. His answers to questions pertaining to Dave in any way have always seemed so forced.

Yeah haha, maybe thats cuz Dave has told the truth and Deryck doesn't want everyone to believe this shit, even though it might be true haha.

well i guess it was wishfull thinking. I wonder what really happened.. Because i'm sure he didn't leave the band just because he didn't like the music.

Dave seemed to get excited when I told him I was going to the Charlotte show and said to tell the guys " hey and hope you have a great show"...Deryck seemed happy when told him the message

This is the reason why Dave can never join the band again.
Over three years has passed, and Deryck still gets really frustrated when talking about Dave.
Even though the band says they are still friends, I highly doubt Deryck and Dave would have talked to each other much after the break-up.

Well, I bet they did talk a little when Dave joined them at that Toronto Kool Haus show last year.
