dunno if I posted this already but..
Hi, just wanted to ask.. Will we ever hear the song you made for Sum 41? As a b-side maybe? I don't mean We're the Same, but the one where you sing too.

Cone:
Not sure if that song will ever surface. Not sure it turned out as good as I hoped it would so maybe not. Never know though.

If it wasn't that good then why don't they just put it up on their website for fun or something? I don't see why you would write a song then just never have it surface. It'd be cool if more bands showed us some of their "failed" projects

changed it, hows that?
Yeah that's cool except the typo :devious:

I think people will still post in here about anything Sum 41 in general
good grief, I don't think I can post anything without making a typo...lol

You've got a point :p

But an anniversary of a possible death, seriously? :2cool4u:
When thinking of anniversaries, i think of AKNF... whoa... 11 years ago.

Mkay.. Actual discussion time.

You guys remember that one song, the one that was SO vulgar, so completely terrible that Deryck couldn't release it? Hm..

Stop being such a douche about Underclass Hero. Underclass Hero is way artistic, and maybe too close to mainstream to be a "good" album for all the "hardcore" people here, but you have to admit it's a damn good album when it comes to growing up from their old stuff.

And what song is Jake talking about? Leak!! Leak!! Leak!! Leak!!

no we don't. UH was a bad album with a few good songs like Speak of the Devil or Count Your Last Blessings, but mostly the album sounds like trying to be the new pop duo with Avril Lavigne ...

I definitely wouldnt say Underclass Hero is more mature than Chuck.. not even by a long shot.. but Underclass Hero is really really really easy to enjoy and I still listen to most of the album every once in a while

Okay I was joking about UH. It's my joint 2nd fave Sum album, so just stop taking everything seriously. I might mistake you for a Rise Against Fan...

Again, joking.

Oh well, what the heck.
SBM is still the best album of theirs so far.

I think someone asked Deryck about it and Deryck said he didn't even remember the song as there were many songs he wanted to release but wasn't allowed to. Nonetheless, I'm still curious because nothing on Screaming Bloody Murder came off as "OMG, this is that one song! WTF!!!"... The closest I came to that kind of reaction was when I found out that line in Jessica Kill was actually "cum". Pun not intended!

The music sounds too poppy to sound "mature" to me. A good example of musical maturation is Blink-182 from the Take Off album to the self-titled. I also don't see how the subject matter of Underclass Hero (the song) is any different than that of Fat Lip. When I heard "I won't be caught living in a dead end job" I was like, "U can't B srs Deryck, you've been in Sum 41 for 10 years now".

However, I agree that it is an easy album to listen to. Probably because most of the chord progressions are the same. :hehe:

the funniest is the sentence ''but you have to admit it's a damn good album when it comes to growing up from their old stuff'', cause if my memory serves, UH was supposed to be a comeback to their old roots, to the roots of AKNF XD and it was a fail
