i think this thread was originally made for the progress on SBM but it sorta turned into SBM/Sum 41 general information/ random stuff we need to put here for some reason

It's pretty funny but I hate when people get all "they ripped off this song!" etc about chord progressions.

For pop music especially, there's only a small limited amount of chords you can use anyway, and that particular progression just fits music about love so well for some reason. I mean they aren't gonna use any trippy jazz progressions in pop music, so you gotta expect most songs to be exactly the same.

It's still funny though

It's also kind of annoying to find out how so many of your favorite songs have the same chord progressions. It sounds good to everyone and is easily manipulated, so it's not surprising that so many songs have it.

I guess that's why I don't listen to much pop punk anymore besides old Blink. I don't even listen to Sum 41 besides Screaming Bloody Murder these days.
