Well at least Stevo is seizing opportunities to do one of the things he loves. I'd direct a video for a shitty band if it meant adding to my directing portfolio.
As for McFly, I don't know how they can come out of the recording studio and say "those were some good songs we recorded."
It seems like N'Sync with guitars to me. Way too bubblegum-pop-esque.
I haven't listened to McFly at all, mostly because their music is really really far from what i listen.
Stevo made a good decision, he's doing what he likes, doesn't matter for who, you've gotta start from the bottom (yeah, McFly is as bottom as is gets) and work your way to the top. Good for him.
yeah, Mcfly are basically the british version of simple plan
im interested in how steve got involved to direct it in the 1st place but hopefully it will turn out ok

no way! theyre not as gay as simple plan.
theyre more like a british version of the all american rejects (from what ive heard)
It's a serious insult to McFly to put them all the way down there with Simple Plan...
It's work and it's work that Steve likes to do. I'm all for it.
Adam (Open Your Eyes), Amy (Mr. Penguin), and Sasha (Young,Dumb,And Full Of Cum...) are my noobs.
Claudia is my grand-noob.
Lisette (bunny) is my great-grand noob.

well back when i watched british music shows when Mcfly whored themselves annoyingly with their craptastic simple plan~esque songs, i thinks its uninsulting to say that Mcfly are...like Smple plan
But yes, when they're not equally bad, Simple Plan comes out worse.

Not fighting or anything, I'm just wondering. I mean even if you think that SP is pop garbage, some of their lyrics have actual meaning. McFlay are bubblegum pop garbage. lulz.
I'm sorry, Simple Plan's lyrics only had a shred of meaning the first time they wrote them in 2003. Ever since then they've only taken out the thesaurus and it's all gone downhill from there.
By now their lyrics have negative meaning, dude.

McFly is one of the most famous and most loved bands in the United Kingdom, Tent be listened by 10 Year Old girls that think their "hawt".
McFly were once discovered by James Bourne who was in a similar sounding band called Busted. Busted spilt up and did their own thing, Charlie went on to do a band called "Fightstar", James went on to do a band called "Son Of Dork" and Matt went on to do some solo work.
That's when McFly took their place so to speak and started in a movie, [Which is quite shite], comparing them to simple plan; McFly tend to be cheery with most of their songs.
In my opinion McFly are utter shite, but if Steveo did their video, Sum 41 might get some more radio play over here in UK so I don't mind.
man i laughed when i first read about this. yes, McFly are some pop band over here in the UK, but as others are sayin, its work for Steve, and a passion for him. and tbh, he could do worse than McFly. i mean i don't like their music, they are a pop band fpor small girls, but they know that, i have to repsect them for that, their not trying to be something else like alot of bands are these days, and tbh, they have lasted quite a while comp[ared to other bands so they must be doing something right.
Well, I guess it's not as bad if McFly knows that's the kind of music they want to put out.
I don't listen to either Simple Plan or McFly, but from what I can see, Simple Plan has a bit of a more mature look to them. Music-wise, maybe the same. I don't really know.
