Re: Deryck's Signature Tele
I'm reviving this just so I don't have to make a new topic dicussing Deryck's Signature.
Anyways, I bought one in Olympic White and it arrived a couple days ago. It cost me about $356.
To be completely honest, I think it sounds good. It sounds a lot better than I imagined. I don't think the HB-102 has as much crunch to it as the SH4, but it's decent. My pedal and amp have a lot to contribute to how good it sounds. It took me almost year to finally find a really nice rock tone that I liked.
The only thing I don't like about the guitar is the finish on the neck since it like... has none. With the Tele Deluxe, the neck has a glossy finish making it look great and feel like it has a lot of quality. With the Whibley it's basically just wood and kind of feels "cheap." I'm also not keen on the agathis body, but whatever.
All in all, I recommend this guitar to any beginner looking for a decent guitar. Or anyone who needs a beater guitar that has a similar sound to their main guitar, like me, haha.

Re: Deryck's Signature Tele
it may not be THAT good guitar, but it's definetly worth buying it for 300 dollars
Re: Deryck's Signature Tele
you would think it is a good deal for 300 but it really isnt. the tom delonge squier strat, which i also own, fucking great quality and not the least bit cheap. nice finish on the neck, looks and plays amazing, and was under $300. i swapped some of the stock parts with the fender parts but either way it was great.
the whibley is really all cheap material, like gunner said the neck and body are not the greatest. the tuning machines and pickups blow aswell.

Re: Deryck's Signature Tele
In terms of actual value of the parts and everything, I don't think it should cost more than a Squier Tele Custom which is around $230. The Tele Custom is pretty much like a watered-down, affordable Fender Tele Deluxe with two pickups, four control knobs and a pickup switch.
Many people already know this, but the reason it costs the way it does is because it has Deryck's name on it and it's a signature guitar. If we took away the X's and the "Deryck" on the headstock, it would sell for a lot cheaper.

Re: Deryck's Signature Tele
I think I will save up for this because I'm not a serious guitar player and it would be cool to have his sig.

Re: Deryck's Signature Tele
Do you think I should by Deryck Sign? I have already Affinity Squier. I really like '72-outlook. But should i cost 460euro for Mexican Standard Tele? It's 160e more than Deryck's and I'm so fan of Deryck. That guitar would be so cool to own. Its still Derycks name and two X on it. And its '72. ![Big Grin ](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)
