i definitely feel a little dumb asking this...but..... could someone please explain to me what the phrase "bought and sold" means? i've heard it in other Sum 41 songs before, and i still cant put my finger on it for some reason

ok deryck said this song was about them losing dave and their manager and being at the lowest point and breaking through that and making the best record they've made yet, so i think that phrase refers to their old manager and producer
