With the Red Hot Chili Peppers officially "disbanded" for a year, Anthony Kiedis has taken on a new role as festival curator for Pittsburgh's New American Music Festival August 8 - 9.

i thought the same when i bought stadium arcadium, but whats really happening is they're releasing amazing single s, but bad album content, to many fillers that you have to skip over
If more people realized how long they've been making music and how amazing it is that they are still around, I think they would be much more appreciated.
This sucks. They aren't one of my favorites but they're still a great band and it's always tragic to see great bands break up. Californication IMO is probably one of the best songs of all time.

maybe i would appreciate them more if they wern't such a shitty live band. and tbh there are bands that have been around alot longer than them and can still make decent music, unlike the Chilis
Off-topic, but the offspring are the best band live. I said don't bring the off into this cuz they have been around since 1989 (and in Manic Subsidal vefore that) and from the 3 songs from the album I have heard its gonna be awesome

Working on your request makes me a PD? I can't believe how small a man can be.
I beg your pardon "bobbyjames," but the Red Hot Chili Peppers hit the stage in 1983 with their first record in 1984, and their latest which came out in 2006 happened to be their best-selling. Iron Maiden's latest release from 2006 hasn't seemed to make such an impact like the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Iron Maiden my have been around just a few years longer, but it is very clear that the Red Hot Chili Peppers were the band that made their own style, worked it for 20 years, and made it to the big time. The Offspring haven't been around as long as both of them, but I guess we will see very soon how their latest album will sound.
