Has anyone else seen this? I was browsing around wikipedia and I found this page and was extremely disturbed by it.

Its basically some kind of laser developed by the military that, when used, causes its target to feel like their skin is burning. I just thought it was kinda fucking sick the torture devices that are still being produced in this day and age. It also screams long term health defects to me.
Post if you think it's fucked up.

It's supposed to be only used for a few seconds, so as to incapacitate people. It's been tested a bunch of times on people, and supposedly it works without the long term damage and what not. But yeah, it's pretty screwed up.

Re: Active Denial System
It's pretty depressing to see that we need such torture devices in this modern society. I think torturing was more common back when they burned witches and stuff, but we're civilized now. It's sad, that there are situations that need such drastic measures of control. It's sick.

im not american, and im not trying to offend any americans, but its mainly yanks that produce these huge torture devices, basically to try to rectify what they believe is a war, in trying to get straight answers from people they capture. kind of upsurb if you ask me becuase simple and traditional torture (as in-humane as it sounds) is faster, and less expensive. wowjanetvaher wrote:It's pretty depressing to see that we need such torture devices in this modern society.
