Yeah, i'm fairly sure that they didn't inform us because it wasn't necessary. Imagine going on your blog to announce where you were going to be everyday. Plus, if they announced it on their site you might just get fans of the bands that don't give a shit about Global Warming.

well the reason they didnt talk about it is because it was only for the kids who go to that school (i dont but my friend knows i like them so invited me) and they didnt want there to be a fuckload of people

Actually, at a "Global Warming" Conference you would want supporters of said cause, not just posers.
