I like other genres, like rock, pop, metal, hip-hop and punk isn't my favorite kind of music (my favorite music is the rock from the 80's and 90's)Jonny wrote:I don't know why, but fans of bands like Sum 41, blink, good charlotte etc seem to only like that one genre and dismiss everything else.
I didn't dismiss anything it's just I don't like ava now maybe someday I will like their songs I don't know

I hate Good Charlotte, lol.Jonny wrote:I don't know why, but fans of bands like Sum 41, blink, good charlotte etc seem to only like that one genre and dismiss everything else.
What an awful generalization.
I love a wide variety of music. I like The Beatles, I like the Clash, I like Letter Kills, I like Rihanna (sometimes), I like Kanye West and Eminem, I like the Plain White Ts and Fall Out Boy, I like Alkaline Trio and I love Sum 41.
But just because I don't like Angels and Airwaves, I must only like one specific genre of music and be completely ignorant.
My God...
Adam (Open Your Eyes), Amy (Mr. Penguin), and Sasha (Young,Dumb,And Full Of Cum...) are my noobs.
Claudia is my grand-noob.
Lisette (bunny) is my great-grand noob.

i hate blink, GC, and most punk bands.Jonny wrote:I don't know why, but fans of bands like Sum 41, blink, good charlotte etc seem to only like that one genre and dismiss everything else.
i like Alexisonfire, love Billy Talent, Rise Against, Three Days Grace, Santana, City and Colour, Linkin Park, some metallica. and some 80's metal bands that my dad plays.
Sum 41 is the only "punk" band i really like. even though i don't consider them punk at all.
i agree with wat Phili said about that horrible generalization.

BT and RA are kind of in the same Genre, but there not in the same one as 3DG.Phili wrote:^Heh, he's referring to Billy Talent, Rise Against, and Three Days Grace when he says that "one genre", but I get what you mean.

to the guy who told me not to judge him, i didn't mean to. i was just trying to make a generalization, and it is true. but i think its also an age thing, i mean when i was 14-15 i just listened to blink and sum and stuff but as i've grown my tastes in music have totally expanded.
and to other people, i would say BT and rise against are same genreish three days grace isn't too far off, but theyre like more...softish in a weird way, yet theyre pretty hard.

It took me awhile to appreciate the music of AVA. When I first bought Whisper, I thought it was all repetative and boring. It had its moments, but I probably listened to the whole CD twice before going back to something familiar (Sum 41).
But just recently, like a few months ago, I've really started to like the atmosphere of their music.
I listen to a variety of bands as well. But I tend to listen to fast, edgy type songs more so than others.

everyone's taste's in music expand as they are getting older, to me, thats one of the great parts of music, there's so much music out there. you will always discover new bands to fall in love with, you will get bored of some of the bands you listen to, and YOU WILL ALWAYS ARGUE WITH PEOPLE OVER MUSIC!
i listen to more than one genre of music. i love Blink 182 and Brand New. i love Metallica and Megadeth. i love Eels and Death Cab For Cutie. i love Hadouken! and Foals. and hey, i love Nas and Lethal Bizzle!

I'm 15, dude. I don't think my musical tastes have ever been as narrow as you're suggesting... I have memories of liking classical music and rock music when I was 5. When I started listening to modern music, I was listening to pop punk, regular pop, and country.Rick. wrote:to the guy who told me not to judge him, i didn't mean to. i was just trying to make a generalization, and it is true. but i think its also an age thing, i mean when i was 14-15 i just listened to blink and sum and stuff but as i've grown my tastes in music have totally expanded.
