The Sum 41 Gear Thread

So basically use this topic to talk all about Sum 41's live setup, guitars and kits, amps, effects and pedals, mics, cables so on a so forth - past and present. I'm also going to use this topic to my benefit because I'm making my own Whibley signature and I do not want to fuck it up!

So... does everyone agree that on Deryck's '72 Tele Deluxe (black with red X's) that the bridge pickup is a Seymour Duncan SH-4 and the neck pickup is an unplugged stock pickup that came with the guitar?

In SquierGuitars.Com Deryck says that he "customized the bridge pickup" does that mean he just switched it? How it's worded kind of confuses me. Also... has he always used the SH-4 pickup?

yes, by customised he means he just switched it. and im 99% sure its and sh-4. i know a shitload about the gear they use, so any questions, just ask. When it comes to amps, i know a lot more about the pre-underclass hero stuff though. i know deryck uses a modded marshall 1959slp, but i dont know what the mods are, or who did them.

the pickup that comes with the squire guitar is shit. so when i purchased it i was so upset i went out and installed an SH4 JB in the bridge and ditched the shitty chrome plated "duncan design" rip off for good.
