Define Emo
thats bullshit that that topuic was locked. thats just just lame, if you dont like it, dont read the topic. people should be allowed to discuss it. and ONCE IT DOES turn into a pathetic argument, go ahead and lock it, but i never knew a topic could be locked cause sum1 doesnt like it.

http://www.urbandictionary.comquote:
Genre of softcore punk music that integrates unenthusiastic melodramatic 17 year olds who dont smile, high pitched overwrought lyrics and inaudible guitar rifts with tight wool sweaters, tighter jeans, itchy scarfs (even in the summer), ripped chucks with favorite bands signature, black square rimmed glasses, and ebony greasy unwashed hair that is required to cover at least 3/5 ths of the face at an angle.
Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail, and My Chemical Romance falls under the "horrible pop rock" genre, not the emo genre.
Rites of Spring is emo.
some of it is right.

Well since JanetVaher answered your question, all the more reason to lock now, isn't it?
There have been countless debates over the "what's emo" and "what's not" on this forum. We don't need another. And we CERTAINLY don't need the exact same thread again, when you could have PM'ed me, saying to unlock.
And if you don't like how I run the site, then get out, Curtis.

Jonny wrote:I didn't want a definition, i was just discussing about the fact that emo has become difficult to label because of people opinions.
And I'm sorry, I didn't spot the countless other debates.
Nah man, it's alright. Don't feel bad, it's not like you were spamming or anything. The conversation, I could tell, was just gonna get some people angry.
It's just...labels don't go anywhere, and this was gonna become a "What's emo?" and "What's not emo?" argument. There's enough of those.
Don't worry Jonny. It's not like you're Zam or anything, ;)

Emo is just emotional music. It doesn't have to be depressing. But it's just easier to write about sad stuff then happy stuff. Listen to any band u like and i bet u many of their songs are gonna be about getting dumped or loss or somthing sad. You guys hear emo u think of people with long bangs cutting themselves and worshipping satan and shit. But no thats not emo, thats weird.
