On the same point, My Les Paul look a lot smaller when i play it XD
But i think Les Paul fits more Sum 41's style.
Do you guys remember the first shows? Deryck was always with Les Paul and Dave also played in some shows back at 2001 with a Les Paul.
Plus, Telecaster and Les Paul together is exactly the perfect sound for Sum 41.
Ibanez will never fit their style, although Fender Stratocaster is pretty awesome, i also learned to love the Telecaster, thanks to Deryck, his Telecaster is awesome.

At the beginning, looking at his outward apperance I thought: "Holy fuck, this guy could be my dad, how old is he?!"
But all in all, and after seeing him on the concert here in Germany: He's nice, can play the guitar pretty well - although he fucks up the Hell Song Solo every time - AND I really like his voice. He sings more than Dave did.
The only thing I dislike is that he just plays the songs, as they're written in a Tab book. He never improvises something or plays a song a little bit differently, allowing his skills full bent. This is one thing I loved about Dave. I know, you can't compare this 2 guys.
One thing I'm wondering is if Tom will really belong now to Sum 41 or will he just be the "tour guitar player". Reading some Sum 41 Interviews it seemed that he could soon really join and belong to Sum 41 as a real member. But until know, I just see him as the "tour guitar player" of Sum 41. :)

The Only time i remember Deryck playing a Flying V was then when they played the medley of Fat Lip, No Sleep Til Brooklyn, Shout at the Devil and You've Got Another Thing Comin' , with Rob Halford.
And yeah, Deryck and Dave played on variety of guitars but the Telecaster kinda fits Sum's style the best, the Les Paul too, that's why even though playing with many different guitars in many shows, Deryck locked on a Les Paul in their early days and now with his own signature Telecaster.
