October's issue? how did you manage to get it now if it's only supposed to be out in October?
And if anyone has a scanner and this article, please scan it, sounds interesting.
Maybe Deryck will shed some light about his Signature Telecaster, before i'll buy it (and i'm considering but they're selling only Squiers ... ).

here it is all written out. spank you budgie :D
Jason "Cone" McCaslin
Instrument: Bass
Gear: 59 reissure Precision Fender Bass, SVT Ampeg Classic reissue amp, Ampeg SVT-810 cab, Avalon and Sansamp DIs
Why This Gear? "I like the sound of Sansamp in my moniters, and for our kind of music the Fender Precision and the Ampeg SVT just work the best. I just like the way Fenders feel and sound anyway."
Bass Heroes: Krist Novoselic
What Sound do You Go For? "I just kind of make sure you can hear the notes, and that has a little bit of dirtyness to it. I distort it a little bit so it has a little bit of crunch and it's not super-clean."
How Does Your Equipment Affect the Sound of the Band? "The stuff I use just sounds right for the kind of music we play. Tom (Thacker, touring guitarist) uses a Les Paul, and Deryck uses a Tele, and everything together sounds good."
How Much of a Tech Geek Are You? "I'm not really at all, I don't read "Bass Wanker" magazine or whatever. Basically I just need to try something to know whether I like it or not. I get by."
Are You Planning on Adding Any New Equipment to Your Setup? "I don't think so. I've been using it for six years so it's pretty set now. If someone said, "You have to try this", I'd try it, and maybe it would be better than what I have, but until that happens I' pretty happy with what I have."
Steve Jocz
Instrument: Drums
Gear: DW kit, Zildjian cymbals, Remo skins, DW hardware, Vic Firth sticks, and a DW 5000 double pedal
Why This Gear? "I use Zildjian because they're just the best out there, and they're free! I think DW kits sound the best live, they give a really rich sound."
What Got You Into Playing Drums? "I went to camp when I was 11 and there was a drum kit there. I went home and told my parents that was what I wanted to learn. I just saw the actual instrument and I thought it was interesting and fun."
How Does Your Equipment Affect the Sound of the Band? "I think the stuff I play allows me to play as comfortably as I can - I don't have any stupid little fucking octobans, robotoms or splash cymbals or anything retarded like that. It's just a basic set-up, which is all you need. All the other stuff in my opinion is just superfluous and retarded! If Buddy Rich could do it with a four-piece drum kit, you don't need something you need to be lowered in by a crane."
Are You Planning on Adding Any New Equipment to Your Setup? "No, I've had the same sort of set-up for ages. I had the double-kick drum for a while, but i's just too big. You want the drums to sort of hug you, so you can get around quick enough. Once you add the extra kick-drum it's a mess. I like to keep it simple."
Deryck Whibley
Instrument: Vocals, Guitar
Gear: 59 Les Paul guitar, 59 Plexi 100 watt Marshall head, 52 Fender Telecaster, Telefunken Neumann mics, Spectrallex cables
Why This Gear? "For me it's all about the attitude and the character that they give off. The amps are modified to sound the way that I want them to. I always try everything out and pick out the things that I like."
What Made You Want to Be in a Band? "A couple of people were in bands at school, and because I loved music so much, we got together and started a band. I think most people in bands do it because that's just who they are."
How Does Your Equipment Affect the Sound of the Band? "Well I produced this record so I was involvedin every sound. I guess my guitar and my vocals are a big part of that sound, but we all like the same thing."
How Much of a Tech Geek Are You? "I guess I am. I buy a lot of guitars but I'm not really into the weird technical new stuff like pedals, I just like getting good quality microphones, and amps."
Are You Planning on Adding Any New Equipment to Your Setup? "Always, I love buying compressors and EDs, and there's still a lot of stuff that I want. There are guitars that I'll probably end up buyin, mostly for the studio. My live set-up's pretty simple, I've had it for a while and it works."
