its kinda annyoing that you hear a whatsapp tone at the beginning of the acoustic version of war.
Re: The Leak Discussion
I'm not going to listen to the Leak, I'm just wondering how would you rate this Album from 1 to 10 (10 being the best sum41 album)
Thx!
Thx!
Re: The Leak Discussion
My first listen through and I am absolutely overwhelmed. This is, no question, the most solid Sum 41 album from start to finish.'
This is a Sum 41 fan's dream.

I wish this was on the album, but I really can't complain about anything.

I can't believe it's been 5 and a half years since SBM.

Re: The Leak Discussion
After listen to the album, all I can say is amazing, beautiful, amazing riffs, lyrics, this album have all in all. Every song have something special, it makes me wants to listen from the beginning to the end. I love this album all the previews that they shared on instagram we can hear it without one song that I really looking forward and that is this song that the guys are talking
Edit: I was listening "Goddamn I'm Dead Again" and the part of the solo is like or the same that 88, just in one part, is like Dave saying to you "I'm back".
It's too bad that this song can't make part of the album, it's like "Believe". Besideas the missing song all the album is amazing, I really love it.evil_dwarf14 wrote:Ashasx wrote:I wish this was on the album, but I really can't complain about anything.

Re: The Leak Discussion
Is Deryck the only one singing in The Fall and the Rise? Almost sounds like a couple lines from Dave in the first verse.
Either way, this will be an unbelievable song live.

Posting impressions as I go along.
A Murder of Crows: Fantastic opener, atmospheric and brutal at the same time. A nice surprise.
Goddamn I'm Dead Again: Fuck, that solo was more than I expected. Structurally quite an interesting song, nice to see from the first two tracks that they're not as intent on following the verse-chorus format.
Fake My Own Death: Sounds like it came right off Chuck, good stuff.
Breaking The Chain: Cool, but fairly generic and slightly overproduced. Strides a nice balance between ballad and upbeat track.
There Will Be Blood: Not much of a fan of the chorus on this one. Awesome creepy bridge/solo though.
13 Voices: Pretty good all-round rock song. Not much more to say.
War: Overproduced and kinda boring, was a bit of a disappointment from the beginning but it's still miles above Best of Me and What Am I To Say.
God Save Us All: See above. Nothing special here.
The Fall And The Rise: The rapping doesn't do much for me. These three songs all have an issue with overproduction.
Twisted By Design: Starts off weaker but really builds and the climax is definitely a real climax for the album.
General thoughts? Deryck's songwriting and specifically lyricism has definitely made a marked improvement, but the album as a whole is held back slightly by issues with production and a slight regression from SBM on some fronts (nothing here comes close to A Dark Road, for example). Overall I'd say my expectations were low and have been exceeded for the most part.

Re: The Leak Discussion
I'm not going to judge songs here, actually the only thing I want to say - the album is cool and since it's better UH I will love it for sure.
But, what I'd like to mention is
The sound is FUCKING AWFUL in places.
We need re-mastered version of album even before it's even out.

Re: The Leak Discussion
Not sure exactly what you mean, buy maybe there is a quality issue with the leak. I am hearing notification noises in some that I know don't belong (GSUA).sumelf wrote:I'm not going to judge songs here, actually the only thing I want to say - the album is cool and since it's better UH I will love it for sure.

No, I'm talking about quality of mastering and mixing which is Deryck's fault. It has nothing to do with the quality of leak.Ashasx wrote:Not sure exactly what you mean, buy maybe there is a quality issue with the leak. Re: The Leak Discussion
I guess the word fault is not the right thing here. What if this dirty sound is what he wanted to achieve or how he felt this record? Maybe he meant to produce the album in such fashion, who knows. I believe, post-production thing can be personal too just like composing, dependent on what one have been listening recently, how he feels, etc. But in some points I agree with you.No, I'm talking about quality of mastering and mixing which is Deryck's fault. It has nothing to do with the quality of leak.
