Summer

Post by sprinks41 »

I started working on this song back in 2009 or 2010 and it continuously sat in my notebook untouched because for the longest time I couldn't figure out what to say. Finally I got some ideas together and this is what I was able to come up with. Enjoy...

Verse 1
Open my eyes and it's half past one
I feel the heat from the midday sun
I roll out of bed only half awake
Try to ignore my throbbing headache
Didn't get home 'til a quarter to ten
Can't wait for tonight so I can do it again

Chorus
Summer has begun
And you might as well face it
We're gonna have fun
And we're gonna get wasted
Havoc will be made
So much liquor you can taste it
We're gonna get laid
And we're gonna get wasted

Verse 2
Relaxing all day without worry
Try to remember last night but it's kinda blurry
Night arrives and I'm surrounded by friends
Hope this freedom never ends
Hold onto my cup 'til the drink is gone
Bonfire on the beach 'til the break of dawn

(Chorus)

Bridge
We're too young to grow up
Don't tell us to act our age
We're too old to misbehave
And too young to care
No matter what we do
Parents complain and ridicule
They were young once too
And disobeyed the rules
Times have changed since
And we've come so far
It's time to say "fuck you parents"
Let us be who we are

(Chorus)
