Back to the Action - (Sum 41 cover)
I saw these guys open for Sum 41 in Allentown and they were great. Their original songs are worth looking up on Facebook, etc. I couldn't find any of them on YouTube.

Could those vocals be any more Tom DeLonge? If you're literally unable to develop your own vocal style beyond a cheap immitation of another singer, at least choose a singer who can actually sing.
Edit: And he needs a haircut.

I think you're being a bit harsh. It can take years to develop your own unique style. They don't even have an EP out yet, just demos. And they still won a contest to open for one of their biggest influences. Sounds like they are on the right track to me. A more unique sound will hopefully come with time.

The mix is pretty horrible, and I agree with Gregor about the singer.

Couldn't say it better myself.Gregorovich wrote:Could those vocals be any more Tom DeLonge? If you're literally unable to develop your own vocal style beyond a cheap immitation of another singer, at least choose a singer who can actually sing.

This cover was terrible, I think it would be worse if it was mixed properly to be honest.
I'm not the one to look for positive opinions, cause there is none.

Re:
I was reading the comments while the video was playing, and you're right. The singer sounds way more like Gerard than Tom.Tyler. wrote:He doesn't sound like Tom DeLonge lol. Sounds like he's trying to be the MCR singer more than anyone
Can't really say if they deserved to open for the Sums considering this isn't their originals I'd say you could get a lot worse haha

Eeh. Not the worst cover I've seen, and I have a feeling the reason I disliked the sound was mainly due to the sound quality of the video recorder, still. He sounds like he's trying to pay homage to Gerard, but doesn't do a great job. Just kind of captures the annoying whine he has during certain parts of the song.
Certainly not ready to open for Sum 41, but I suppose I see some potential as an independent band, once that guy improves his singing voice.
