EDIT: Fail at them playing the music video version of Makes No Difference on radio (with all the background noises).
EDIT 2: Stopped working for me after the song.

This works. Cone tweeted a link out. And yes, I mean, really? It's not that hard to get the proper version, and not the video. Ah, well.TomiT14 wrote:Cone being interviewed right now by WAYN Radio.

Edit: Even Fat Lip was the video version...(Not that it matters 'cause the intro's totally awesome and all though.)

The Sums, well, 3/4 of them, (Deryck, Cone and Steve) are in Toronto! I'm excited even though they'll be returning for the show in November. Probably practicing, or getting into too much trouble. Maybe having a nice Thanksgiving dinner together. Who knows.

Attending a friend's wedding. I doubt they would rehearse without Tom.SumGeek wrote:The Sums, well, 3/4 of them, (Deryck, Cone and Steve) are in Toronto! Well, I didn't think so either but that's all I could come up with until I remembered earlier about their friend's wedding.TomiT14 wrote:Attending a friend's wedding. Listening to UH front to back for the first time in many years, and now that i think of it I think the record has taken an un-necessary amount of shit. Feels like winter of 2007 all over again.

I think I'm one of the few that even thinks the album still is top notch quality just like all the other albums are, and still listens to it ever as frequent.

Re: Sum41/SBM Discussion!
It's better than AKNF and HHOP at any rate. Maybe even DTLI. There were only two songs I didn't really like on that album (Best of Me and Dear Father).
fuck this signature nonsense

Re: Sum41/SBM Discussion!
Underclass Hero was the wrong direction. Thank god Screaming Bloody Murder brought them back to where they should be.
but I know I can't be comfortable in my own skin.
So when I say I'm scared to be alone, you know I mean it,
I'm just not ready to leave my room.

Re: Sum41/SBM Discussion!
i think a lot of people just saw it as a step back from what sum 41 was growing into with dtli and chuck.
i agree that it was a step back but not in a bad way, i saw it as they were starting the cycle over now that they lost dave and were just being reborn from the beginning to work themselves up to that point again (screaming bloody murder)
but yeah i love UH not one of my top 3 sums albums, but i still love to listen to it all the way through every now and then.

Re: Sum41/SBM Discussion!
i agree 100 % ! i think lyrically it even was a huge step forward for deryck. The problem was just that people were dissapointed that they didn't follow their heavy path and blamed dave's departure for it.Noreason757 wrote:i think a lot of people just saw it as a step back from what sum 41 was growing into with dtli and chuck.

They said the album was shit because it was softer and that sum 41 would suck without brownsound.
well i do enjoy underclass hero (!) even though ( or mainly) because it's different , but hey every band has his own underclass hero so fuck it ...

Re: Sum41/SBM Discussion!
Wow, really? Those two have become some of my favourite tracks off UH. I find them particularly hard to listen to at times, as you can really sense the emotion behind them. I really like UH for being such a personal album.Gregorovich wrote:There were only two songs I didn't really like on that album (Best of Me and Dear Father).
This. This is the main reason why people have negativity towards Underclass Hero. I really cannot stand it when people bring that into it. I mean, Deryck would have still discussed the same topics with the lyrical content as he wanted to do something like that with the album.Ardi41 wrote:The problem was just that people were dissapointed that they didn't follow their heavy path and blamed dave's departure for it.

Re: Sum41/SBM Discussion!
I think that whatever sums released to follow Dave's departure would've been hated on no matter what...
Underclass Hero is an incredible album. The hate it gets is unreasonable and ridiculous. It's everything you love about pop-punk yet still maintain the realistic emotional state. I doubt any band could pull that concept off any better than the Sums.

Re: Sum41/SBM Discussion!
I don't get it. What's good about UH-lyrics? In my honest opinion they're one of the worst Deryck has written. I may have liked them when the record came out, but man, I've grown to realize how juvenile and generic they really are now. I don't really despise the lyrics, it's just that they convey no emotion whatsoever.
And the reason most people don't enjoy UH is not because it was not heavy or aggressive, but because it only occasionally showed some sort of originality in songwriting. I love everything else they've put out, but UH for the most part is just bordering garbage. (I still give the album 2/5, though. The good parts save the album)
Feel free to disagree.
