The first one.
A logo with just letters may catch interest, but people won't know what it means most of the time.
It shows a bunch of good ol' looking guys trying to have a good time at a roof and then there is some random dirty looking text above which says something about a Sum and 41 and stuff so people will totally understand it

Idk I like the second one better, it's not crowded, just a quick "SUM41" to get your point across. I'm sure even if people didn't know what Sum 41 was, they would assume it was a band being that band shirts are popular to wear, and also what else could a Sum 41 possibly be? lol.
