Yes- you can plug your guitar into it...but the fx are kinda cheesy and lame sounding...So-- i recommend running from your amp or box.

I'm thinking of getting a Hi-Z to guitar plug, so I can plug it into the microphone output, and maybe later get a microphone.

If I was you Id get an audio interface and connect it up to logic pro or pro tools. It will be cheaper than a zoom r24 and easier to control/better quality. Probably look at something like a Presonus Firepod? Thats what my band recorded out last EP through and it sounds mint.

That Zoom R8 thing doubles as an interface with 2 inputs, and Cubase comes with it. It isn't ProTools but it's decent enough for a beginner that's recording on their own and probably not really releasing anything properly yet.

If you asked me why I think it sucks , I would have told you ... But pigeonholing people is way easier than actually trying to undestand what they were trying to say , i guess ! Lol @ ignorance .
