Re: Kerrang! Tour 2012
"I feel really terrible about letting down the fans," says Deryck. "I injured my back and the doctors are saying that I could be in a wheelchair. So, as much as I wanted to be able to do it, I've got to look at reality, and for the first time I've got to listen to somebody else and not just myself. We're all really upset about this; we've had such a great relationship with our UK fans. We were really looking forward to this tour."

Re: Kerrang! Tour 2012
I think that's really awesome that they're covering it. Do you think they did it because The Sums had to drop off the lineup? Or they were already planning to? (I've read the lead singer is a fan of Sum 41)stevo32 wrote:The Blackout covering Fat Lip on the Kerrang Tour
Edit: There's a lot of negative comments left on another video I mean, I don't see anything wrong with them covering Fat Lip. It's not their fault that Sum 41 had to cancel the dates.

First of, The Blackout wouldn't have been there if The Sums didn't cancel. Second, there's no way that the supporting band would cover a song that they know the headliner will play. I mean, sure they could cover March Of The Dogs or Handle This or any other song that Sums wouldn't play, but playing their biggest hit right before them would be more like a slap in the face than a cool thing to do.SumGeek wrote:I think that's really awesome that they're covering it. Also, I was very much expecting them to play a Sum 41 song.
And do they have two vocalists? Or why is there two guys singing with no instruments to play?

Re: Kerrang! Tour 2012
Not sure what you mean by that second point because they wouldn't even of been in the lineup with Sum 41 but all I was saying was it wasn't a bad idea. I think they wanted to do something for the Sum 41 fans that were let down. Apparently they enjoyed covering the song too, especially since their fans of the band.TomiT14 wrote:SumGeek wrote:stevo32 wrote:I mean, sure they could cover March Of The Dogs or Handle This or any other song that Sums wouldn't play, but playing their biggest hit right before them would be more like a slap in the face than a cool thing to do.

I was answering to this question:SumGeek wrote:Not sure what you mean by that second point because they wouldn't even of been in the lineup with Sum 41 but all I was saying was it wasn't a bad idea. Well what did you mean with the "were they planning to"? Of course they weren't planning to play a Sum-song, since they weren't originally in the lineup. After they were included, it seemed natural that they'd play a Sum-song, afterall they were the replacements + one of the members is a fan. So of course they played the song because the Sums had to drop off.SumGeek wrote:Do you think they did it because The Sums had to drop off the lineup? Or they were already planning to? My second point was for your second question. Since you were wondering if they planned to play it before, I assumed you didn't remember they weren't originally in the lineup, since otherwise that question wouldn't make sense. So my second point was to say that IF The Balckout was in the lineup originally, they wouldn't have planned to play Fat Lip if The Sums were going to play it afterall.

The replacement band playing Fat Lip for the Sum 41 fans is like dangling a steak in front of a rabid dog on a leash.SBMurder wrote:Did this not happen the last time Sum 41 cancelled some shows Someone had covered Fat Lip? i would assume they played it because Everyone wanted to see Sum 41 there

Re: Kerrang! Tour 2012
Being a fan of the Blackout and having seen them 5 times. I can say that this is not the first time I've seen them perform Fat Lip.
There are two singers in the band by the way. Old stuff one generally did the screams or at least what would be consider screams.

Yeah I think it's pretty good as well, better than 99% of covers. Plus the music isn't exactly their style either, they did a very good job.
