I'd say that's pretty accurate, I think it's been higher but who cares.

Re: The Deryck Thread.
Deryck will have more money than Stevo, or Cone because Deryck 1) is in the band 2) writes all the songs 3)Produced the last two albums. Bands (especially session musicians, which is what Cone and Steve basically are), hardly make any money from album sales. what you guys have to realize is bands hardly make any money on selling albums. if you pay $15 for an album, after packaging/distribution/production/producers fee/a whole bunch of other bullshit, you can expect the artist/band to receive less than $1 per CD sold. and that is the band on a whole. then thats divide up by who is the songwriter etc. so the fact that they have 5 albums is almost irrelevant.
someone said "merch"? a $25 t shirt will not make a band money, sorry. first the designer and company who made the shirt has be paid to make it, then the company that distributes it gets payed to deliver it. bands nowadays only make money on performances, and face it Sum 41 lost A LOT of money in the past 2 years because of how many shows they had to cancel. not mention all the food/booze they buy.
that $4million "net worth" doesn't mean anything. Deryck could own a 2.5 million dollar house that he really can't pay for in full. the rest of that 4 million is just guess work, and how his reputation holds up. what do i mean? he is the frontman for a semi-successful pop punk band from the early 2000's and was married to a (much more) successful pop punk diva. no one is gonna say that hes "only" worth 1-2 million.

Re: The Deryck Thread.
For what it's worth, Forbes (which seems to be a reliable source for 'celebrity' finances), listed Deryck Whibley and Avril Lavigne as amongst the top ten earning couples in Hollywood in 2007-08, stating that Deryck made upwards of five million that year alone due to his multiple credits in producing UH and its subsequent tour.
Personally, I would say his earnings from 2001-2004 alone would have made him a millionaire.

Really? I thought Avril kept the house. That's why Deryck had to re-build his home studio for SBM recordings.blackhawk1105 wrote:He got to keep their $9 million house.. which also meant he had to pay the remainder of the mortgageArdi41 wrote:did he get any money out of the divorce ?
Actually, I'm quite sure Avril kept it. We talked about this by the time of the recordings.

wtf? I'm a 100% sure I read an article published at the time of the divorce saying D got the house.TomiT14 wrote:Really? I thought Avril kept the house. Yeah, I was on AP.net and someone said how much A Day To Remember made off of merch at just one date alone. It was some absurd amount. Every little merch item adds up.Tyler. wrote:Bands do make a lot of profit from merch...
That being said, I wanna see new Sum 41 merch at the Kerrang! tour.
..And I know this is the Deryck thread, I just thought I'd add that there.

Re: The Deryck Thread.
Deryck bought like 30 guitars for Underclass Hero... does anyone know if he bought more for Screaming Bloody Murder? Or is he still going through the ones he had already bought? Haha.

Re: The Deryck Thread.
Deryck should probaly make some money of the people with the bad judgement to buy his guitar.
