DVD's are proving to be the most versatile and long-withstanding digital video disc. it's not going away for a very very long time. i personally don't have any BluRays because my tv is not high def, and i don't have anything to play BluRay Discs. thats right, i don't even have a PS3.
I've never seen HDDVD movies, isn't that the kind of disc that xbox 360 uses??'
yeah it was the biggest fail ever
Blu Ray is rly great the quality of films + games is super I love all the little infilm features on blu rays also

HD-DVD wasn't the biggest fail ever, the medium is actually pretty good with the possibility of Triple layers. It was in competition with Blu-Ray. Obviously the HD-DVD lost the battle which experts say is mostly likely thanks to Sony including the device in their PlayStation 3.
HD-DVD single layer had a storage capacity of 15GB while Blu-Ray has 25GB. For those that would like to know.

If I remember correctly PS3 was the first or one of the first Blu-Ray reproducers on the market, so that would make sense
from what I remember, it's one of the resons the PS3 took a while to come out on the market, they were perfecting the blu-ray technology. and I don't blame them, it's worked, it was one of the things that made me buy a PS3.
with the HD-DVD, didn't you have to buy a seperate driver to play them on the Xbox, which was like £60?
I'v got a Mummy collection, Final Fantasy VII Advent Children, Watchmen: motion comic and The Forbidden Kingdom. Blurays are fucking expensive in our country so I order them on ebay (yeah, none of these are in language I speak.. but I prefer English anyway.. just Czech subtitles would be ok for me, this is.. almost perfect) quality is great, I watch it through PS3 and I really like it.
Blu-ray is great, HD is awesome, It's good cos I still buy cheap DVD's at 2.99, 3.99 sometimes and a blu-ray player upscales your dvd's nicely !
I do think they are still bit too dear, HMV is worst, never bought from there but I get them online as it's cheaper than in shops but sometimes ASDA have them at not bad prices so buy them then, I've paid £18 max for a blu-ray but don't like paying anymore than £15 now for them which can get them online for that, got few from ASDA at £9 there before xmas. I have few triple play and Double play on'es which is brilliant, paid £12 from Amazon for Harry Potter Death Pt2 with Blu-ray & DVD which is fantastic getting the two formats.
