"A foot in the gutter, the other in the grave"
Is this some sort of idiom or saying that's been around for some time? I've never heard of it until Skumfuk, but I was randomly listening to "Look What the Cat Dragged In" by Poison and they use the same line. Another band, Hopewell, apparently uses this phrase in a song called "Calcutta".
I just assumed Deryck came up with it since he's used similar lyrics with gutters and graves in the past, haha.

It's a quite entertaining saying to say randomly as a true sum 41 fan.
When people walk past you are you're all like "A foot in the gutter the other in the grave" and people around you is like "What the fuck does he mean?"

Never heard of it before Skumfuk, but if you've heard it in two other songs its very very very unlikely he just happened to come up with it on his own.

Re: "A Foot In the Gutter..."
If you have one foot in a gutter and the other in a grave, then either the gutter or the grave is in a very unusual place, just a thought...

I've heard of "One foot on the gas, the other in the grave" before all this gutter nonsense.
