Re: Blink 182 Discussion Thread
The drumming is fucking nuts though, the outro is intense. But otherwise I'm not as bigger fan

Yeah, I think I actually prefer Up All Night over this song. Aside from the drumming, it comes off as really plain/empty to me.

Re: Blink 182 Discussion Thread
It feels like one of those songs you need on an album though, quick and catchy sorta chorus. The drums are great as well. It's just not something I'll listen to a shitload like UAN, but it's needed when you listen as a whole album, cos I'm thinking most Tom songs won't be quick and punky like this.

I dunno, I like the big change. Didn't really want the album to sound like old blink. It's a good song though.Madjid wrote:This sounds like old Blink, what's the problem?

Travis barker is a shitty drummer, he sounds like a fucking robot. there is no dynamics with any of his patterns, everything is precise and the same velocity. you could replace him with a drum machine and no one would tell the difference.

I personally think this sounds more like Plus 44 because there is little to no Tom on this song =/Tyler. wrote:I dunno, I like the big change. Didn't really want the album to sound like old blink. It's a good song though.Madjid wrote:This sounds like old Blink, what's the problem?

Re: Blink 182 Discussion Thread
im serious. i couldn't hold it in any longer, i fucking hate him.Tyler. wrote:Are you serious or just trolling?2712 wrote:Travis barker is a shitty drummer, he sounds like a fucking robot. there is no dynamics with any of his patterns, everything is precise and the same velocity. you could replace him with a drum machine and no one would tell the difference.
he has skill, but he is FAR overrated as a drummer for coming up with patterns and drum parts with variance. they're all the same and sound terribly robotic. i could program in a retarded sounding drum pattern in to Logic at 170 bpm and it would sound like travis barker.
and the fans who think he's hot shit are even worse. but they aren't as bad as those "metalcore" dumb asses who think blast beats are cool. fuck that shit.
I respect blink 182 as people and as musicians, but they are far overrated for talent, all three of them.
why are they popular?
A: because it's fast, simple and fun music meant for people who just wanna hear music that doesn't make them think.
that all being said, i still listen to blink 182 and a few of their songs are good. but i just can't listen to them a whole lot without think about how annoying the drums are, how boring the lyrics are, how weird the guitar riffs are and how unimaginative the bass lines are.
RANT OVER.

Re: Blink 182 Discussion Thread
Yeah and Tom's guitar tech said the new songs were sounding sweet live at rehearsals so they've been practicing more than one at least.SumGeek wrote:Ah, thankyou for that info! Also two other song titles are registered as sites by the same person as heartsallgone.com. They're ghostonthedancefloor.com and evenifshefalls.com. So we can probably expect another song maybe even before the first show tomorrow.
