I was one of the lucky ones that got invited by big G himself. Only now have I got around to actually trying it out. Seems okay but I can't really say how good it is until I have more folk on it.

i think alot of people underestimate Squiers... give it the right tone with the right amp and they definitely will impress you. and i do love tele's :)

Haha, I don't know how the Deryck replica got the shaft in that whole thing. Also, the Classic Vibe is pretty sweet. I've heard good things about it!

By the way, how did you get rid of that pickup lever thing? You just removed it and replaced the pickguard?

And right, i heard that the neck pickup (The Fender Wide Range one) was unwired, is that right? If so, why?

You could do it, but you'd have to get a custom pickguard... etc. I just had my local guitar shop do everything for me. I don't have the tools or the proper knowledge to do it myself.

Yeah, the neck pickup is unwired. I can't really tell you why, but I don't think I really use the neck pickup anyway on my guitars. Even my first Telecaster the selector switch was always in the bridge position.

So, when it all comes down to it, Deryck's guitar is a basic, basic guitar. One pickup and a volume. No bells, no whistles.
