haven't heard this similarity, but Jester is slower and not screaming at me, so SUM41 FTW

I think I prefer House of Wolves. It just sounds more ballsy and has a little more groove.
Also, "angels" and "graves".

It's always about ballsy stuff, then you might as well go listen to hardcore.Jeremy Kill wrote:I think I prefer House of Wolves. It just sounds more ballsy and has a little more groove.

No, it's all about attitude and meaning. There's no emotion in The Jester; the vocals just follow the melody. Reason to Believe has more ballsy attitude than The Jester.HugoDisasters wrote:It's always about ballsy stuff, then you might as well go listen to hardcore.Jeremy Kill wrote:I think I prefer House of Wolves. I never really like Jester and MOTD, hardly listen to them (listen to the bsides more), just prefer it over that MCR song. I've tried to like MCR and just can't. I do like that song Not Coming Home? the one with the WWII video.

Re: The Jester - House of Wolves - Same chorus?
It amuses me that people think Deryck or any member of Sum 41 would rip off a song from MCR, considering they write this stupid pseudo-maniacal music that lacks actual artistic integrity. Cool... the two choruses share maybe 2-3 matching notes with a similar beat. Rip off? nah. Same chorus? I dont think so. I wouldn't stoop so low to compare the two bands, ever.Tyler. wrote:The Jester owwwnsssssssssssssss it

Re: The Jester - House of Wolves - Same chorus?
Wtf dude no need for the anger. It is totally obvious that the two songs sound similar, I don't know why you would argue that. And what's with saying MCR lacks artistic integrity? The Black Parade is a brilliant album, I highly doubt you've even given it a listen properly, and there is a lot of talent going on in that band.

Re: The Jester - House of Wolves - Same chorus?
woah no anger here man, really :P sorry if i came off that way. I guess i just dont like sum 41 being compared to MCR. I have listened to The Black Parade.. I guess i just see them as just trying to capitalize and focus only on their image, with it being successful with 16 yr old emo fangirls, but thats just me lol.Tyler. wrote:Wtf dude no need for the anger. Ah you just seemed like you were raging a bit lol. Their image went pretty weird back then, but honestly it seemed like they were just doing it because they're weirdos, not intentionally to try get girly fanbase to like them. But seriously, that record is really good, and has really good musical parts. But yeah, the comparison isn't like insulting Sum 41 or MCR either way, it's just noticing that it was similar which it isResident Skumfuk wrote:woah no anger here man, really :P sorry if i came off that way.
