so my band went and recorded one track with some kid who lives near us. he kinda sucks at mixing, and doesnt know how to work autotune, so the quality isnt the best. but check it out :)

What is going on with the auto tune? It sounds like there's actually a pretty good song in there, but get a proper engineer/producer on the case and drop the auto tune on the vocals. It sounds like some of the vocals re-sampled at the output or something too, it's really weird - probably just the auto tune.

The instruments seem muted, try to make them sound a bit more sharper and it would be much better

Sounds pretty good. Get the singer to do backing as well and layer up the shouting bits more.

no dude, the kid who recorded us was using ProTools, and i have no knowledge at all about recording software or anything, and he sent us back the mix sounding like this. hahaMax wrote: Did you use the autotune in Garageband?
