My thoughts exactly.

Couldn't hear D's guitar properly for some reason.

Also, I think that if Brown Tom didn't put so much effort in the backings, they would be better. Imo, he screams to be heard, you see. But while screaming, it's really hard to sing right.
umm I actually love Browntom's backings. Screaming feels right to me in Screaming Bloody Murder.

Yeah, one of Tom's lines made my roommate laugh out loud while we were watching it because it was so awkward.

I think the problem is that it's so difficult to match Deryck's unique raspy voice between singing/shouting/screaming

Since it doesn't air in Canada anymore, I just finished watching it online. I have to say, out of all the performances they've done lately for late night tv, this one has to be the best especially in terms of sound and what not. Really great! So proud of them. They all looked great aswell.

Really good performance. Just wish that they would play a new song off the album other than SBM and Skumfuk.

I still think it wasn't all that great. They are great live but so far they just cant nail this song. I guess it just takes a little time since its new. The only complaint is that the guitar is far too quiet (deryck needs to play more) and Toms back up vocals are too quiet too.

I wish they would play some other new song. Foo Fighters are going from one late night TV show to another, playing a different song (or 2 songs) on every song. They're already played "Walk" and "Bridge Burning" on the Daily Show and they're not singles.. and some other songs that aren't singles.

Deryck needs like 3 months to memorize one song, he can't just learn another one :silly:

Besides the guitars being too quiet while the bass was too loud, it felt for me more than being fast-forwarded than just being played fast. But that maybe just because of the fast changing cameras

It’s like sounding really nice, having a good feel, that’s all about the guitar.
That’s what I care about. I’d rather be a better strummer than fuckin' jizz all over the fuckin' fretboard...

Derycks voice actually sounded pretty good during this live performance

Thats the only problem i have with Sum 41...their live vocals are pretty bad but he CAN be good if they want(summer sonic 2010 was amazing) i do understand Deryck is trying to preserve his voice but i just HATE how he over emphasizes his words(example:"PERFAAACTION IS MAI DIRUHECTION!", it sounds so bad...i'm so happy he didnt do it here

I think the way how Tom's voice sounds so different to Deryck's and how suddenly he kicks in is very much in style of the whole album

for example the 12min song with its slow, hard, mellow, fast, aggressive and quiet parts
the more incongruous the bigger the effect, expressing sudden changes and uncertainty in life

imho pretty clever, but probably too much for the casual listener to get on first glance, hell not even professional music critics understand it

I don't think those were worse. Might be by the fact that this is easily one of the 3 best-sounding & -looking shows the Sums ever did

The video wasn't filmed to look like a standard performance. It was produced to look like a music video almost. Winterjam I think was the best performance and filming wise.
