Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
It reminds me that the riff of Sick of Everyone is a bridge in Angles with Dirty Faces.. though there you can't really hear it well with the vocals and all, but when you listen to the guitars you can hear they're basically the same.
I think someone even said it back when we heard the Sick of Everyone riff at the update where Cone recorded bass on that song, which was like update no. 4 or 5.

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
While they have the 1st place on all billboard charts for "biggest fall". Also you have to compare the chart place for Awesome as fuck for its debut week, as it's been released 1 (or 2?) weeks earlier than SBM
have a try and test your knowledge:

It’s like sounding really nice, having a good feel, that’s all about the guitar.
That’s what I care about. I’d rather be a better strummer than fuckin' jizz all over the fuckin' fretboard...

Canada seems to back SBM! Couldn't let The Sums down, after all they're from here. Would be disappointed! SBM deserves more than this everywhere else though. This album is incredible.vill_chouine wrote:SBM has been the 9th best selling album last week in Canada while green day was 56th

Considering the Green Day record is a live record i'm not surprised, if you should compare the two at least compare it to 21CB and how many copies they were selling during the second (third?) week.vill_chouine wrote:SBM has been the 9th best selling album last week in Canada while green day was 56th

But Bullet in a Bible was selling like hell too. But yeah, it's not relevant to compare live cd and new studio album.Emil wrote:Considering the Green Day record is a live record i'm not surprised, if you should compare the two at least compare it to 21CB and how many copies they were selling during the second (third?) week.vill_chouine wrote:SBM has been the 9th best selling album last week in Canada while green day was 56th

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
A couple of things...
Firstly, does anybody have the ability/know-how to remove the percussion from the intro riff to SBM? I feel like they get rid of that bounce you can hear easily in the live version but isn't very apparent in the studio (possible over-production of drums or maybe deryck just played it differently in the studio). Anyway the live version sounds much better so I want to try and replicate it.
Also, have the Sums played any new songs except SBM & Skumfuk live yet? I can't keep track of when they are and aren't touring- we need the whole of SBM live!

As full songs, only Skumfuk and SBM. But they've played some parts from Back Where I Belong and BIME.Gregorovich wrote:Also, have the Sums played any new songs except SBM & Skumfuk live yet? I can't keep track of when they are and aren't touring- we need the whole of SBM live!

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
Great interviews! Loved hearing a little more from Deryck in the 1st interview. It seems to me like Deryck enjoys the phone interviews more so. It was like he kept talking and the guy had to stop and let Deryck finish what he was gonna say, haha. Really enjoyed the interviews.Ferdehh41 wrote:

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
So what song did Deryck write first for the album, Screaming Bloody Murder or Reason to Believe?
I thougth it was RTB but on the phone interview, he said SBM. I'm kinda confused

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
I think Reason To Believe is the oldest song, since some parts are from Chuck era. But that song was originally written for another band to use. SBM was the first song that was written with the EP/album in mind.UltraKolby wrote:So what song did Deryck write first for the album, Screaming Bloody Murder or Reason to Believe?

At least that's what I guess.
