Yeah the MTV Valencia special is airing here at 11pm! I'm so stoked. Took long enough to get it to air for all of us! I still watch it online. Love the Fat Lip performance.

That perfectly demonstrates the difference of Dave's and Deryck's musical minds. For Deryck, the fun can just happen around the album with the guys while the album itself addresses the dark side of him, for Dave it has to be present in the music itself to be able to enjoy it over longer periods or time. It seems like he doesn't understand that particular kind of passion coming from insecurity and depression, because may be he is just a happier, more mature and secure person.
That doesn't make either one of them any less of a good person or less of a passionate musician, just too different for them to be happy in the same band while they are at such different stages in their lives.
It's unfortunate that as a result their friendship has pretty much faded away, or at least so it seems.

I don't really have anything more to add, but I just wanted to mention that Dave said the same thing when Underclass Hero came out (regarding the "having fun" part).

That's what I've been wondering as well. I liked that part.

I really hope the reason that the only b-side we have on iTunes/Japanese edition, etc is We're the Same cuz they're keeping more awesome b-sides for a whole new b-sides album/EP, to be released soon or whatever.
