I don't know about that.. Tom has some experience you know. I like Gob better than Brown Brigade, etcTyler. wrote:i'm not sure if in the last sentence you mean as a whole but you're a terrible person if so. you must've never seen DVD's or videos of them just chilling.pteargriffin wrote:dave was boring as hell on stage, i'm sorry, he maybe jogged around a bit, but i really never felt he brought something extremely substantial, in my opinion, nothing about him is missed whatsoever
he is more comfortable on stage than tom is. he does look better on stage there's no doubting.

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
Yeah, and from Gob live vids (at least the old ones) he seems to have a lot of energy and stage presence there in Gob, though he barely has any in Sum 41. I don't think he even moves hehe, just maybe getting closer to the mic to do backing vocals and that's it.finglemaster wrote:I don't know about that.. Tom has some experience you know. Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
Well I saw a few Gob live videos and Tom kinda didn't do anything special. Dave did a few cool things. Maybe this tour, Tom will be energetic since he did help write the album.

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
I still think Tom is nowhere near as much of a band member as Dave was - he has only recently been credited as an official member and he might as well have not taken part in the recording of SBM at all. Although he did originally write Panic Attack...

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
I think Tom is still intentionally holding back, because of the way he came into the band as a touring guitarist. He doesn't want to be overly present and pretty much only does what he is told to. Dave always spiced things up a bit since the stage was where he had a little freedom, playing solos a tiny bit different/experimental and talking every now and then inbetween songs, which was fun. I think Tom still needs to grow into that kind of position with Sum 41. The fact that he co-wrote the title song is definately a good step foward in that regard. On the other hand, Cone is singing and talking a little more on stage these days, so I guess it's just a constantly shifting balance.

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
I also can't fault Tom, I would also be holding back. I mean sure he is in the band now, but there is still that awkward situation of being the new guy and I doubt he wants to truly replace Dave even though he is doing just that.

For me Browntom is the best person for replacing Dave that the sums could found
I think, as time will run, Browntom will gain more stage presence

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
Cool, is that something like the MTV Winterjam 2003? Because that was one of the best recorded performances they ever did, soundwise even better than Live in Tokio in my opinion. Some brilliant sound engineering going on there (except for the usual Steve's-vocals-not-in-the-mix issue).Ferdehh41 wrote:Sum 41 will participate at "Mtv Winter" in Valencia on March 12th, with My Chemical Romance, Groove Armada and Orbital.

MTV MTV wanted to give the Winter of the most innovative set design, and therefore this year the stage, underneath the Museo Principe Felipe, will be open to the public platform of 26x12 meters and a screen 45 meters wide in which visual projects. In this way, the whole avant-garde architecture of the City of Arts and Sciences will be the spectacular setting for concerts by My Chemical Romance, Sum 41, DJ Sets of Orbital and Groove Armada, plus The Welcome Dynasty.
lol @ Cone not being in the picture. But the description (or what I can get from it) sounds awesome. And it is MTV, so it will probably be broadcasted properly, not like those shitty webcasts.

Got intrigued by this:
Some of you may not like the singing, but this is how I'd do an acoustic cover of the song as well. I like her interpretation of the song.

Re: "Screaming Bloody Murder" Discussion!
It's pretty good, but I'm not going to listen to it again. That accent makes me want to kill myself, seriously. I'd even prefer the complete gibberish-french where you don't even recognize the lyrics but at least you can relax while listening. This is too awkward for me.
Edit: Just move the last 3 posts there, if that's possible.

The site it was posted on seemed to have a bit of a dig at deryck and tom for not laughing, but Deryck doesn't care, so why should we

She kinda sounds like she's a mix between Haley Williams and Regina Spektor with some tATu, pretty cool cover though..not sure how I like she did the bleed part, kinda looses something slowed down.
