Japanese culture is so different to Western culture though. Maybe it's just as simple as Sum 41 being more accessible to Japanese folk and the fact that - traditionally - people over there are so much more fanatical?

it is correct that japan is sum 41's strongest territory outside north america, however the release date has nothing to do with that. release dates are all in the hands of universal music group/universal japan. most releases have japanese release dates a week ahead of north american and european dates. it has been this way for decades. it's one way japanese record companies ensure the japanese market purchases japanese releases rather than american ones, in the same way that different bonus tracks are released in different territories - to attract the local market to the local purchase.

I would preorder SBM, but here it doesn't make sense. When it's out I'll buy it on ebay and I will have it earlier than from any shop in Czech Republic.

Makes sense that it's out in Japan a week before official release in the US, Europe, etc. Same was with UH.. it was out on July 24 in the US and the whole world, and in Japan it was out already on July 18, which was almost a week before. On the other hand, Billy Talent's third album was released in the whole world (except the US and Japan) on July 13, in the US on September 22 and in Japan on November 11. That's a big fuckin' delay between delay, I know BT are a lot more successful in Europe than the US but still..fuckin' two months delay, and with Japan.. 4 months delay, and that has to do something to their status and popularity in the country cuz BT are pretty unknown there I think.. they never even played in Japan.

Well, it's nice that some dates have come up... But It is 74 days and 5 hours until Screaming Bloody Murder gets released (if dates are right of course) :suicide:

Finnish online-magazine, HC-Sanomat (the same site that released the pic for my avatar), states that Sum 41 have announced that the album is coming out on March 22nd.

But I don't think it's any more reliable than AbsolutePunk, Kerrang or RockOne (or whatever that French magazine was).

So when I read this on my phone earlier at school I was going insane.

From the Rock Alternative radio station 89x in Detroit:
"Tune in tonight at 8:30PM when Jay Hud debuts the new Sum 41 track, "Screaming Bloody Murder" to the ENTIRE WORLD!"

I don't think so. Sum 41 have been interviewed on their radio show before so it is possible they have contacted the band or whatever. I can email Jay Hudson if you want so we get clarification?
