This. I think they should have the USA/Canada release first but they did have that Japan Listening Party. (Or will be?) So I wouldn't be surprised if it got released in Japan first.

anyone else here pick up on the fact that the 7th isn't a Tuesday and singles/albums/videos always release on Tuesdays

Yes probably, but there are exceptions that not always be Tuesday and there is a possibility that it is Monday an example can be Linkin Park's first single of the new album A Thousand Suns "The Catalyst" was released on August 2 and August 2 was a Monday. So with this , why not February 7? It may be possible because it is not always due to follow this parameter. I think it may be possible if other singles have been released on a Monday, why not this? And don't forget that probably leak before
