What do you think about Coldplay

I don't really know what this band is about ...some of the people I know say that they suck and they're masters of plagiarism...the other ones say that they are epic ...I heard this band perform on the show where Blink 182 announced their reunion ...they sounded pretty okay ...

There a pretty good band. Good to listen to when you want to go to sleep or to relax too. I don't think they copy from anybody, if anything, people copy them. Look at Pieces by Sum 41's main riff, its just like Coldplay's The Scientist.

but I meant it more like if they are a good band ...making their music by themselves,writing their lyrics by themeselves and not giving a fuck about success ..I mean not to totally give a fuck you know...everyone wants people to listen to them...but if they write their music just to be successful ...or they write it to like it themselves ...

I am just a person who does not want to listen to music made by old men investing their money :P

no it means if they make their music from the heart or just for money ...and if they make their music and everything by themselves ... but I meant it more like if they are a good band ...making their music by themselves,writing their lyrics by themeselves and not giving a fuck about success(you can just remove the 3 dots if you don't understand)

in my opinion their only similar if D plays the solo piano version, with the guitars it sounds totally different.
The only song I like by them is The Scientist, Av covered it a couple years ago and I like her version better

Coldplay are an amazing band, they have a lot of really good songs plus their music videos and live performances are awesome. If you asked me how to describe them, I would say they are The Beatles of our generation. I don't listen to them a lot recently, because I'm more into heavier stuff at the moment, but whenever I randomly listen to them on the radio or something, I pretty much enjoy it with only a few exceptions where they annoy me (which happens every now and then with almost everything I listen to).

Why? They are hugely popular, they make good melodic pop music, had lots of international hits and they fill stadiums. Name a similarily successful band which fits that description better than Coldplay. May be U2, but I would say they are beyond 'our' generation.
