Saw this band the other day they were playing at the students union at my uni so there were only about 50 people there. I wasn't really a fan before I saw them but it was such an awesome gig I now love their recent album!
If anyone's into a bit of post hardcore slightly screamo stuff with pop thrown in then check them out.

Re: The Blackout
These guys have been one of my favourite bands for quite a while now. Shut-The-Fuck-Uppercut is one of their best songs for me.

Re: The Blackout
They're not bad, but they're neither a post-hardcore nor a screamo band. They play emocore.

Yeh man! That's my fave song too but I couldn't find the video for it. Is it a single?Boni Boy Blue wrote:These guys have been one of my favourite bands for quite a while now. Shut-The-Fuck-Uppercut is one of their best songs for me.
I really wouldn't class them as emo though. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Post_hardcore pretty sure they come under post hardcore since they're similar to Silverstein but less emo lyrics.

Re: The Blackout
They're a nice band. I liked their last album, and their cover of I Kissed a Girl - its was pretty cool. Children of the Night is a good song.

Re: The Blackout
If you've listened to enough post-hardcore and emocore bands then you would know that The Blackout is emocore.Max wrote:Yeh man! That's my fave song too but I couldn't find the video for it. Real post-hardcore bands: Glassjaw, Thrice, Fugazi, Handsome, At the Drive-In, Quicksand, The Blood Brothers, The Nation of Ulysses, Rival Schools, Bear vs. Shark, etc.
People think these are post-hardcore bands, but they're emocore: Silverstein, Funeral for a Friend, A Static Lullaby, Attack Attack!, Alesana, Saosin, We Came As Romans, Asking Alexandria, Eyes Set to Kill, etc.

Re: The Blackout
I've got one album by them. Not sure which one, I think it came out last year. All I remember is Boni was the one to post the link. Anyway, they're not bad.

Re: The Blackout
None of these bands even come close to Sum 41. I hate listening to emo/hardcore/whatever the fuck music it is because the songs seem so unorganized to me with a pussy vocalist that sounds like he's crying and the main guitar riff being some high pitched bullshit or one variation of two chords being played in triplets.

That's because you've never heard a good emocore band.kILLDR3n wrote:None of these bands even come close to Sum 41. Re: The Blackout
Yeah I never have, so I immediately assume there aren't any. That type of music just bothers me.soft-punker wrote:That's because you've never heard a good emocore band.kILLDR3n wrote:None of these bands even come close to Sum 41.
