So the album is pretty much done at this point. This also means anyone on the inside could fuck up and the album could leak earlier than expected. February is still a ways away, about six or seven months yet.

I remember that a dad of some kid at this forum worked at Universal and had the Underclass Hero album before it was to be released and he leaked Count Your Last Blessings here.

I'm hoping in the best case scenario that the label finds the album to be so awesome that they're thinking up the best kind of marketing strategy so then the album sells well. The label doesn't seem to be in much of a hurry to get it out either though.

Fuck the label.
If it wasn't for the contract they would probably released it at late 2009.

You really think that? What would they release? A cd of non recorded songs? I would not buy that. And i don't get all this hate for the label. Who signs a six record deal anyway?

it's pretty obvious the album isn't going to be out in 2010.

the majority of acts tour north america during an album release, and take a look at their tour schedule. there's simply no room.

If the 12-minute song is released any time in September or early October, I'll survive... well, I'll survive either way. I'm not going to kill myself or anything.

Well, that sucks dick... I hope to have a single at least out with the Eastpak Antidote tour so they at least support something with this tour... they should release a single around October at least... plus, with the 12 minute song, we could survive somehow I guess... but it sucks.
It could probably leak... I remember Billy Talent III leaked around 3 months before it was released, it was crazy, it was due on mid July but leaked in May... crazy!

I wonder if part of the reason it was pushed back has something to do with the current tour. Maybe they want to put together a big tour to promote the album in North America, and that's why it is pushed back so far. I think that my theory here makes sense. If they release it right now, and then come back to tour NA in a couple of months, people might not be nearly as interested over here as they would if Sum 41 had just released a new album + new single in the last month.
And I know I said I needed space,

but I know I can't be comfortable in my own skin.

So when I say I'm scared to be alone, you know I mean it,

I'm just not ready to leave my room.

Well, they have a big fanbase in Europe as well so if they do a big headlining European tour (the Eastpak tour) they also owe to their European fans at least a single, to promote it on the headlining European tour.

Totally agree, was just going to post the same.

The Eastpak tour lasts over a month, so I consider it a big headlining tour. The best solution would be that they release a single just before or during the Eastpak tour, then go back to States/Canada and release the album just before or during a headlining tour.

I just don't see them having a month-long tour here without having anything new to support.
