Probably not, though it would be his only chance if he's desperate to make this replica.Max wrote:They offer a pewter finish but I dont think it's the same as Derycks tele.Jeremy Kill wrote:When I got my Tele from Warmoth, they still had the pewter finish available. I checked eBay once a year back or so, just for the hell of it and there was a pewter Telecaster HH for $800 and it had just been listed that day. I decided to think about buying it over the course of the night and when I woke up the next day the guy took it off and put a different Telecaster up instead!

$800 is pretty good! It's like the Telecaster HH never existed when I search for it on the internet. It's almost impossible to find anything about it, especially the Pewter one. I only managed to find one website with some photos of it.Jeremy Kill wrote:Probably not, though it would be his only chance if he's desperate to make this replica.Max wrote:They offer a pewter finish but I dont think it's the same as Derycks tele.Jeremy Kill wrote:When I got my Tele from Warmoth, they still had the pewter finish available. I know what you mean, that's why I bought the 72 Deluxe. I'm gonna sound like a nerd but it's cause the headstock doesn't follow the Fibonacci spiral which makes things more visually pleasing.Emil wrote:I hate the head on it.
Edit: made this quick/rough, but you can see how the Strat headstock follows it and the Tele doesn't. Which is why the Strat head looks nicer.

^Haha, that would explain why I like the Tele Deluxe's headstock over the standard Tele's.

Here's a pic of my Warmoth body Tele. It'll give you an idea of what the pewter finish is like. Also, the volume knob on Deryck's Tele isn't a standard round top, it's a gold barrel knob you usually find on Les Pauls.

Fairly similar colour, if not slightly more silver than Derycks but it's still good. What does it sound like? Any clips playing it?Jeremy Kill wrote:Here's a pic of my Warmoth body Tele. I used to dislike the Telecaster headstock. Now I love it.

Haha I thought about making one myself. I would do if I could get the exact colour of the body.Jake-41 wrote:Tele's suck.Nic wrote:I used to dislike the Telecaster headstock. Now I love it.

Re: Deryck's DTLI/Chuck Era Telecaster Project.
not really, but I get what your saying. I bought an american telecaster after I couldn't find any fender hh telecasters. So what I did was I replaced the bridge pickup with a seymour duncan one and took out the neck pick up and removed one knob. It sounds exactly like deryck's black and white telecaster :).Jake-41 wrote:Tele's suck.Nic wrote:I used to dislike the Telecaster headstock. Now I love it.

Re: Deryck's DTLI/Chuck Era Telecaster Project.
Hey dudes, thanks for all the help. Sorry if it took so long, I got caught up with stuff. So yeah, I got a Squier Telecaster Standard instead. It's getting repainted now and the bridge cavity is getting spaced for a humbucker. I'll order the pickguard soon. Anyway, i'll post pics when the replica is done. Thanks again!
