No your not. The sounds like an mcr b-side.

Obviously alot of people here are sum41 fanatics who love everything sum41, when they hear a song for the first time it's "OMG GREATEST SONG EVAH!" especially after taking forever to make a sum41 album, after listening to it a few times the simple chords, a lack of a catchy hook, meh.
You just joined today, so I wouldn't expect you to know how many people here don't like Underclass Hero and didn't like it when it initially came out. It's not like previous Sum 41 songs didn't have simple chords (ie. No Reason, ANIC, Thanks for Nothing, The Hell Song). It's not the best song ever, but I like it better than a lot of the songs from Underclass Hero.

No, I thought Always was pretty lame.

hmmm.
thats my first impression.
the keyboard is everywhere in this song.
it doesn't sound like the sums. they really did change it up this time around.
dont get me wrong. the sums was the sole reason why im into music. i mean im probably the product of a crazy night in a sums tour bus.
its interesting though... lets see where this album goes.
one thing i hope is that they wont need a keyboardist live. that'd be kinda of a downer
i like the intro but i actually had a hard time recognizing his voice... and holy shit i might just shoot myself after knowing, listening, and stalking these guys
his voice improved though (singing wise if that makes any sense)
i think they need to take out some keyboard. position-wise, it seems like piano is the guitar, and the guitar is bass :balling: , and while the drums are still the drums, the bass is just chillin in the corner smoking some pot and listening to ska... as usual for the sums :hehe:
i use a 51 reissue pbass... i drive a 2001 dodge caravan... you know i own an average joe shirt.

Deryck's range and the dynamic in his voice has certainly improved, yup.

Interesting song. Deryck's vocal delivery here is very different from his usual singing style but that doesn't have to be a bad thing. It makes me curious on what he has to offer on the rest of the album. Instrumental wise, it's very bland but I like how the bass is audible here.

Too bad for you. I couldn't care less though, because this exactly what I was hoping for and so much more. If you had any idea how good this feels, you'd envy me.

On a side note: I can't stand MCR at all and I'd be happy to be the only one not thinking this sounds like them.

I think it's a good demonstration of what being really love-stoned for the first time does to you. You probably don't like it, because you know something about that yourself.. or not? It's not a song to listen to a lot either way (unless you still live in that world of misbelief), but it's still a great song.

Nah, Always was kind of REALLY generic.

And I think that there are moments when this is MCR-esque, but certainly not in any sort of style defined by MCR.

I don't think they intend it to be a single and I couldn't care less how it does commercially.

Not to mention they will play Fat Lip live for as long as the band exists because that was their breakout hit and the song most people know them for.

EDIT: And like Phili said, it's probably not going to be a single considering we were able to get it for blocs rather than money.

im not trying to burst your bubble, but there's no way you can say it doesn't sound like my chemical romance. the whole intro first verse bit has MCR written all over it. it even sounds like gerard (mcr singer) went into the studio to sing that first bit.

You're right, but that is NOT good.

I LOVE My Chemical Romance, but that is something Sum 41 should stay away from.
