Honestly, i wish he'd go back to Les Paul's. Or a different tele. He's began to be a bore.

He should use Les Paul Jr.'s live or something... Ha.

I doubt he'll go back to being a regular user of Les Pauls or SG's for live shows as he had reasons for why he stopped using them (Les Paul's being too heavy and SG's for being too top-heavy).

It'd be nice to see him using a different Telecaster without the red X's.

That's why i said that. I mean, i realize those mammoths are prolly heavy. Which is why he tried to use an SG.

Just something new, is all.

You still said you wished he'd go back to Les Pauls, so I don't get what you're trying to say.

Well, the "or a different tele" in my first post was meant to symbolize.. "Deryck won't use them cos they're too heavy."

Yeah, that's quite a stretch and a lot of faith to have in someone to figure out, haha.

He should use a Les Paul cause they're barely jumping around on stage anymore.

Jumping or not, they still can cause back pain. But something new would be nice indeed.

I think that '56 Les Paul gold-top with the P90's would be a cool guitar for him to play. I'd like to get one for myself, but they're hella-expensive!

Who said the '72 wasn't heavy? But yeah, he has great les paul taste. I love that one he played Still Waiting with on Letterman. The black one, with the X's. It's beautiful.

It's probably lighter than a Les Paul though.

I'm a bit curious... He mentioned, that he uses a few "crazy effects" on the new album... To create crazy sounds. First of all, I hope he'll tell us a few things about them, and... maybe he will use them live, too.
And I hope he gets a new guitar for the new album. For HOOP he used mostly his Marauder, for AKNF LP's, jor DTLI SG's, for Chuck various Teles (but mostly the gray one) and for UH '72s.

I kind of hope he keeps using the '72 Tele Deluxe that he's had since the Chuck era. To keep it as his own "Blue," you know? He could have a bunch of '72's with X's on them, but the keeping the original would be cool. Even if he had it just to play a few songs or something.

I think it's established now that that would be "his" guitar. The '72 Tele Deluxe with the X's. So it's unlikely he'll ever get rid of playing those guitars.
