I have no clue, I didn't ask. Since they covered up the rehearsal sound with a previous show, maybeJake-41 wrote:Heather, if they're playing a new song on Warped, please tell us. : )This new song is gonna make everyone rock hard.

Hmm... I don't want them too, i might add. It would so totally ruin the song for me, and i wouldn't care when it got released as a single. If it's possible, they could release a single first, then play it on tour like how it's suppose to be.fenderrocks wrote:I have no clue, I didn't ask. Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
They're probably going to play the new single at Warped Tour. Like with Underclass Hero, they played a bunch of festivals before the release of the album and they snuck in a song or two (I only know King of Contradiction for sure).
I'm going to try and avoid hearing that song via some kid's cellphone clip on YouTube like the plague.

I'm pretty sure they are rehearsing on a new song, as much as they have played the old songs. They wouldn't need much of a rehearsal for old songs i think. But that's just me.

They do.. if you watched the diary of sum 41 you'd know that they forgot how to play entire parts of songs in a few months without rehearsing...FakeNinja wrote:I'm pretty sure they are rehearsing on a new song, as much as they have played the old songs. Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
I guess they will play a new song.
Well, it's a good way of promotion for the new record. Imagine, they're playing warped and saying: "This is our new single, comes out then, go buy it!".
Instead of: "This one is an old song", "This one is for the old-school fans!" and "Do you remember this one?" or something like that.
How is the audience otherwise supposed to know that they have a new record coming out?

Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
That was right before DTLI touring, which was only a year after they finished AKNF. They have been playing the same songs for years now, I doubt they need to learn them over and over again.blackhawk1105 wrote:They do.. if you watched the diary of sum 41 you'd know that they forgot how to play entire parts of songs in a few months without rehearsing...FakeNinja wrote:I'm pretty sure they are rehearsing on a new song, as much as they have played the old songs. At some point it is like riding a bike or walking.. you just can't unlearn it.
Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
Yeah, that's a good point.
Maybe they're just putting together a setlist. Saying "Yeah and here's the longer bridger, blabla" and stuf like that.

Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
but they probably didn't have to practice that much on the new song because they just recorded it...
Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
Wow hold on... The thing is that they played the new songs for the last time together probably in pre-production.
That's like 7 months or so.
From then, everyone recorded his own parts seperately, so practicing them again is absolutely necessary.

Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
What they play live is often very different from what we hear on the record. It's much more likely that they need to work on that, than having to relearn the songs they basically played for the last 5 years.
Rehearsing for the studio is nothing compared to rehearsing for live performances, because you don't have a second chance on stage. You can't say "Let's reset and do it again, that was a shitty take."
And new songs are always easy to screw up, no matter how well you know what you have to play.

Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
Exactly.
New songs have to grow on the band as well. Speaking of the live-part now.

Re: The Sum 41 New Album Thread!
:) Blink 182 used to screw up every song but everyone liked them live :) I miss that time :P and to the rehearsing of the new ones ...on the stage there are guitars, drums and Deryck's vocals and some bac vocals(Cone,Tom)...but in the original song can be used any other instruments or voices or effects ...it can sound pretty different live and they just want to get the best sound out of it ...Simon wrote:What they play live is often very different from what we hear on the record.
