I just bought a Canon EOS 7D camera. A big blow to the wallet. It cost me around $2700. I have to pick it up on Wednesday though because it's getting shipped from a store in a different city as the one I was buying from didn't have any in the warehouse, so I had the choice of waiting or getting the display model in the glass. It's a way bigger purchase than my Samsung TV, which was only around $1000.

someone stole 16 DSLR cameras from my university before the holidays so there's not even enough for our whole class now. the losses were worth 42 grand and insurance only got 20 grand back

^ yeah. It's my best friend. He turned 18 today and seems to be acting "mature" and "adult-like". He didn't do any of the fun stuff he normally does. No nut-shots, no "being gay" with us, nothing. It was actually kind of awkward because none of us are normal, we don't do normal things.

Yeah, that's the one. My previous camera was nothing comparable; it was a Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ7, just a grad gift from my uncle, haha.

I mainly bought it to film videos and whatnot. I don't know a whole lot about photography, though I'll be obligated to take it up after getting this camera, haha.

Haha, well it sounds like you'll spend the next few months getting to know it, it's a pretty huge leap from a point-and-shoot to the best semi-pro DSLR Canon, but it'll be worth it and trust me, once you pick up photography you won't go anywhere without your camera, at least that's what happened to me.
And how the hell did you get that much money, are you working for another pimp besides me, huh? Is it Bobbyjames? IS IT?!
